Do you want to promote your business effectively online? Do you want to reach new audiences? If you are interested in the subject of advertising on the Internet, you will certainly have come across the term Google Ads (formerly Google AdWords) - this is an advertising system that allows sponsored links to be displayed in search results. It is very effective and provides a really huge reach. Would you like to find out more about the costs of such advertising? We encourage you to continue reading!
Google Ads - a way to promote that works
When surfing the Internet, users very often look for an answer to a specific question because they need a solution to a problem. In such a situation, they usually enter a specific phrase into Google, the most popular search engine. This enables them to find a product, service or useful article on a particular topic extremely quickly. But what makes some websites appear at the top of the search results? It is all thanks to SEO or Google Ads. Website owners want their website to appear high in the search engine, because then there is a very good chance that an internet user will click on the link and find their offer. Thanks to Google Ads, we do not have to wait for the effects associated with positioning. However, it is worth noting that you cannot simply pay for a high position in the listings - there is always the word "ad" next to sponsored links. On the other hand, customers are very keen to click on the ads they encounter in the search engine. Why does this happen? Most users see a sponsored link as an answer to a question - by clicking on the site, they hope to find a helpful solution. There is therefore a very high probability that the recipient will become interested in our offer by the way. So we should not be afraid to invest money in vain.
Google Ads - types of advertising on Google
Text advertising is the most popular. However, it is important to know that this is not the only option for promotion with Google Ads. Using this famous system from Google, we can also reach potential customers through:
- YouTube video advertising,
- display advertising in Google's advertising network,
- Gmail advertising,
- product advertising,
- advertising in search results,
- remarketing (standard or dynamic).
We should decide on a solution that is tailored to our business and the objectives we intend to achieve with online promotion. Sometimes it will be good to combine several types of advertising to increase your effectiveness and improve google ranking factors which will simply make advertising cheaper.
Google Ads price per click - how much does it cost to advertise on Google search?
Unfortunately, it is difficult to determine unequivocally how much we will spend on a Google Ads campaign. Our business objective and the specific keywords we want our adverts to appear on will be very important. Some phrases are extremely popular because our competitors also use them - so we will have to pay more to break through. There are several payment models for Google Ads campaigns:
- CPC (cost per click) - by far the most common way in which we pay for each click on our ad - its display is therefore free;
- eCPC (enhanced CPC model) - In this model, algorithms decide the upper limit of the rate per click - thus maximising the number of conversions;
- CPM (cost per mile) - in this case, we pay per 1,000 ad impressions - this is best used when we want to increase our brand recognition and build brand awareness;
- CPV (cost per view) - a model in which we pay per view - usually when an internet user watches the first 30 seconds of a video, or the entire video if it is short;
- ROAS (return on ad spend) - is an intelligent system that selects click-through rates in order to achieve a certain ROAS;
- CPA (cost per action) - solution, where we set a maximum rate for meeting the target, which will result in an increase in conversions.
Google Ads are most often billed on a CPC model, which is often most profitable for businesses. However, it is worth remembering that the cost per click will be determined by bidding. The company that has bid a higher amount will then be displayed higher in the search results. However, it is also important to bear in mind the quality score, so that even with a lower bid, we can win the bidding. The more bidders for a keyword, the higher the amount per click. It is also worth remembering that the budget allocated to a Google Ads campaign depends on us, but too little money spent on advertising will result in infrequent displays and thus: a small number of clicks. We will therefore spend money without getting the desired results. It is necessary to monitor the results of the campaign on an ongoing basis and adjust the budget. In most cases, it is not enough to set up a campaign once. If you are inexperienced with Google Ads, it is advisable to start by outsourcing the creation of a campaign to an SEM agency or marketing agency. This will avoid costly mistakes.
