We recognize that the future of the world and the reality faced by future generations depend on the decisions and actions we take today. In line with our principles and values, we want to address the challenges of the modern world. That's why we have developed a Sustainability Strategy, which is an integral part of our business strategy. Within this strategy, we have defined specific goals for the years 2021-2026.
Our Sustainability Strategy is the culmination of our efforts and commitments undertaken in recent years in the area of sustainable development. We believe that a greater focus on environmental protection, caring for people, and transparent business processes is a natural step in our business strategy and our duty as a large international group.
Our strategy is based on a holistic approach to InPost Group's long-term responsibility and focuses on measurable criteria across all aspects of ESG: Environmental, Social, and Governance. Therefore, which is why we also alternate between using the name ESG Strategy.
We based our Sustainability Strategy on three pillars:

Examples of how we're implementing our strategy
- We have introduced an innovative feature in our mobile application for Polish users, which allows customers to check the amount of CO2 emissions resulting from the delivery of their parcels to a Parcel Locker® or directly to their homes by an InPost courier. By making customers aware of the carbon footprint associated with their deliveries, InPost encourages them to make conscious choices to protect the climate.
- We run a unique InPost Green City program, the aim of which, in cooperation with local governments, is to support the development of Polish cities in accordance with the idea of a green and smart city.
- We provide the ECOreturns service
- We are testing the packaging return system
- We have introduced an innovative solution for Polish patients in hospitals and at airports
- We participate in clean-up campaigns for the Polish mountains and the Baltic
- We run the InPost InHelp employee volunteering program InPost InHelp
- We have installed AED defibrillators on parcel machines (APM) in Poland as part of the „ECOturns on the Guard of the Heart” campaign. The action was carried out in cooperation with the "Association of Volunteer Fire Brigades" and local units of the Volunteer Fire Brigades. After the first edition of the program, 8 units of the Voluntary Fire Service received AED defibrillators. Five of them were placed on parcel machines. As a result of the campaign, units also received 5 modular first aid kits and rescue backpacks to support local communities.
- We are intensively developing our electric fleet and network of EV chargers located near the machines
- We invest in renewable energy sources
- We support seniors in active participation in modern life
- We supported flood victims

Climate neutrality means that a company balances its greenhouse gas emissions by reducing its own activities and offsetting emissions, e.g., by purchasing carbon credits generated through reduction projects (carbon offset) outside its value chain, achieving a net-zero climate impact.
Scope 1 – all direct emissions released through operations. In the case of the InPost Group, the sources of emissions are, among m.in, natural gas consumption, fuel consumption in company cars and refrigerants that have been released into the atmosphere.
Scope 2 - indirect energy greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the generation of purchased electricity and heat (m.in. for Parcel Locker devices, offices, warehouses, branches, sorting plants and the plant producing Parcel Locker devices.
When setting the strategic goal in 2021, the term "own business" referred to a packaging store for sellers called InStore and the Fulfillment service, exclusively in Poland. At the time of setting the goal, the most important packaging was definitely plastic bags and cartons, and these were the focus of activities in the context of achieving the goal.
Net-zero, as defined by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), refers to a state where an organization balances the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions it produces with the amount removed from the atmosphere. This means that the total GHG emissions generated by a company are equal to the emissions removed, resulting in a net-zero climate impact.
SBTi defines net-zero based on two key components:
- Emission Reduction: Organizations must significantly reduce their GHG emissions in alignment with a trajectory that limits global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. This includes reducing emissions across the entire value chain, both direct and indirect.
- Emission Removal: To offset any remaining emissions that cannot be eliminated, organizations must invest in technologies and projects that remove an equivalent amount of GHG from the atmosphere. This may involve natural solutions, such as afforestation, as well as technological solutions like carbon capture and storage (CCS).
Net-zero, according to SBTi, is a more stringent approach than carbon neutrality, as it requires concrete emission reduction efforts rather than simply offsetting emissions through carbon credits. Organizations must demonstrate sustained emission reductions as a priority before utilizing emission removal mechanism
The Kincentric methodology refers to an approach and toolkit for measuring employee engagement, in which employees make a broad assessment of many aspects of their work environment, both at the company-wide and team level.
