Are you starting your e-commerce business and not sure what packaging to send your products in? Guided by cost, functionality as well as environmental impact, we have selected the best packaging . With him, every parcel will arrive safely at its destination.
When choosing the right packaging, it is important to consider first of all the type of goods that will be transported in it. Some items need better protection, while others only need a top wrapping that protects their surface from damage.
There is a lot of packaging available these days. And while it might seem that this choice won't be that important, before making a decision, it's worth looking at a few aspects that could affect the future of the e-commerce you're running.
Non-environmental solutions are becoming a thing of the past
One of the most talked-about topics in recent times is ecology. People are no longer indifferent to the wellbeing of our planet, which means they are trying to choose the most environmentally friendly solutions - including when it comes to sending parcels. Whether you send parcels in bulk or occasionally, it is worth thinking about packaging that will not harm the environment.
Our most recommended packaging is the cardboard box. Cardboard is sourced from recycled wood pulp. Among the greatest advantages are:
- low price,
- packaging can be modified in many ways,
- reusable (not just for shipping),
- environmentally friendly material.
Cardboard boxes are available in many sizes. This will ensure that you purchase them in the size you need, thereby not sending air and unnecessary rubbish to the buyer. Remember that the empty space in the box should not exceed 10 per cent! If you are looking for a 'made-to-measure' box, be sure to check out the our offer !
Cardboard boxes are available at a very low price. This is particularly advantageous for those who buy them in bulk - i.e. for courier and transport companies or for those running an e-commerce business. In addition, cardboard is a material that provides the items being transported with adequate protection against physical damage.
Nowadays, many companies are opting for personalised cardboard boxes. Why? Well, it helps to build a good corporate image. The packaging with the company logo printed on it is not only aesthetically pleasing, but is also memorable for the customer, thus increasing the chance of them visiting the e-shop again.
Cardboard boxes are a money saver!
Apart from the small cost, cardboard boxes also offer other savings. First and foremost is the time saved - it usually takes a few seconds to assemble a box from cardboard. In addition, boxes are available in a wide range of forms, so you can choose the one that will enable you to ship in the quickest and easiest way:
- flap boxes - closed by properly folding the upper and lower flaps,
- two-part boxes - closed with a separate lid,
- folding boxes - the simplest boxes, which do not need glue to assemble,
- boxes with a lid attached to the body ,
- boxes with automatic bottom .
Until the products are packed, each of these boxes can lie unassembled and do not take up unnecessary space in the warehouse. Saving space is also very important - especially if you have a large assortment.
If not cardboard, then what?
Whenever possible, we encourage everyone to use cardboard boxes. This is the most favourable form when it comes to packing shipments. However, if your products require different storage, try not to overuse bubble wrap or polystyrene foam. These two materials are the least beneficial for the environment. In addition, they are completely non-reusable - so they end up in the rubbish.
What people most often use instead of cardboard is plastic. This can take a variety of forms - from plastic boxes to plastic bags. So if you prefer this form of packaging, be sure to use bioplastic for this. It is primarily produced from plants, making it an eco-friendly substitute for other packaging.
Glass packaging is also a good alternative. Unfortunately, they are not usually suitable for transport, due to the fragile material they are made of. Nevertheless, you can use them in your home to your heart's content, replacing harmful plastic with packaging made of glass. It is worth remembering that glass is much safer than plastic - especially when it comes to storing food.
Bet on...
