How do you send a suitcase by courier? These are the tips you need to remember!

There is nothing stopping you from using the services of InPost to ship your suitcase. Of course, before it gets into the hands of the courier, it should be properly packed and secured. What do you need to bear in mind before undertaking this task? Some tips are not so obvious! Read the article and ship with InPost quickly and efficiently.

Can the case be sent by courier?

Can interested parties send the case by courier? By all means. This is no different to sending normal parcels, which have larger dimensions. Depending on the final size of the parcel, it can be sent via Parcel Machine® or to a specified address.

How to send a suitcase? With InPost it's easy!

How do you send suitcases? To start with, it's worth familiarising yourself with the weight and size restrictions for parcels - at InPost, these are as follows if you're shipping via Parcel Machine® and using the Fast Shipment service or the InPost Mobile app:

• XS size - maximum dimensions: 40 x 230 x 400 mm (minimum height 1 mm), maximum weight: 3 kg. This size is only available in the InPost Mobile application;
• dimension A - maximum dimensions: 80 x 380 x 640 mm (minimum height 1 mm);
• dimension B - maximum dimensions: 190 x 380 x 640 mm (minimum height 81 mm);
• Size C - maximum dimensions: 410 x 380 x 640 mm (minimum height 191 mm).

The maximum parcel weight for dimensions A, B and C is 25 kg, but there is no need to worry about exceeding this if you are shipping an empty suitcase. Of course, a suitcase won't fit into the smallest boxes (unless it's a toy suitcase), but it's worth knowing what size parcels exist.

Smaller suitcases packed in a cardboard box will fit into the Parcel Machine®. It is important to measure the size of the suitcase parcel once it has been packed. Once it is properly prepared, simply select your preferred shipment option - Quick Shipment, allowing you to ship via the website, or ship via our InPost Mobile app, where you do not need to print a label.

Once you have selected the way to send, it is necessary to enter all the data needed for shipping, make the payment and go to the Parcel Machine® to complete the whole process.

What items not to put in your suitcase?

All suitcases sent should be completely empty, as it is not possible to send full luggage. It would be extremely dangerous to pack into it:

• documents;
• money;
• Glasses.

Sending a suitcase by courier - is this a better way?

Those who prefer to send their suitcases by courier can order this service via Parcel Manager. To begin, log in to your customer profile. The next step is to select the My Account section visible in the top right-hand corner of the screen and select New Pickup Point. Then simply select the number of parcels (Prepare one or Prepare many) and choose the method of shipment, which in this case is by courier.

Once you have created a collection order and paid for the service, you can now move on to generating and printing the label. The last steps are to order a courier to the indicated address and to hand over the parcel to the courier. This option is suitable for larger cases, as it enables you to send a D-size parcel (maximum dimensions: 500 x 500 x 800 mm, maximum weight: 25 kg).

How do I pack a suitcase for courier delivery?

The shipment must be properly secured: put the suitcase in a cardboard box or carton (making sure that nothing sticks out). The entire package should be filled with bubble wrap or ecological sprinkler, especially if the consignment will consist of precious and small suitcases; this will ensure adequate protection during transport. It is very important to fill especially the space between the wheels and the handle. These components are extremely delicate, so they must be additionally protected.

It is also the responsibility of the person concerned to make sure that the suitcase is securely sealed. This is very important, as the package will visit a sorting office during its journey, where it could, for example, be covered by other packages. If it is unzipped, it could become permanently deformed, among other things.

Sending your luggage and suitcases by InPost courier is a great solution when you are travelling around Poland and have no way of taking too many things with you.
