Shipping a TV by courier is one of the more difficult tasks involved in transporting an item. Neither the usually large size of the device nor the fragility of its components help in its safe transportation. How do you pack a TV for shipment so that it arrives at its destination undamaged? It's time to learn about this proven method!

Shipping a TV by courier - is it possible?

Shipping consumer electronics via InPost is possible. What is more, there is no need to call or look for a stationary customer service point in order to order the arrival of an employee who will collect such a package. Shipment can be carried out online. In this way, you can send a TV or monitor up to 28 inches quickly and conveniently. Check out shipping with InPost at https://inpost.pl/wysylam and choose the best option!

It is worth knowing not only whether it is possible to send your TV by courier, but also what damage insurance the company provides. In our offer, goods (any, not just consumer electronics) are covered with additional protection of up to PLN 5,000.

The process of shipping a TV by courier

The first thing to do before sending the TV by courier is to clean the unit. Removing dust particles with a soft cloth will eliminate the risk of dust particles starting to move around and hitting sensitive components. It is also essential to disconnect all cables and accessories such as the screen stand or screen hanging bracket. Small parts (and also the remote control) are best stowed in a sturdy bag and wrapped in foil or bubble paper. Such wrappers are included with the TV, but if they are not available, they are not difficult to buy. Remember to immobilise such smaller packages in a large parcel in such a way that they do not move during transport.

The next step is to protect the screen. To prevent it from scratching or - even worse - cracking, you need to cover it with a soft material that absorbs shocks, drops and pressure. Bubble wrap works best in this role. Smaller items in the package, such as the remote control, should be placed at the back of the TV so as not to scratch the screen.

A piece of it should not fit the size of the screen, but be slightly larger than it. This will make it possible to stick the film with tape to the case. For the latest, bezel-less TVs, use a section of it, but large enough to wrap around the back of the device and stick it to the body there.

Transporting the TV by courier still requires packaging of the entire unit. Styrofoam, which has good cushioning properties, will again prove useful in this task, which is extremely important when shipping fragile items.

Equipment prepared in this way can now be put into the box. Importantly, it should be at room temperature. Do not put the warmed-up device into a tightly fitted cardboard box, as it will cool down very slowly in such a place. There is a risk that damage will occur in the meantime, requiring costly repairs later.

If you are sending TVs, monitors or screens in bulk, check out the InPost Subscriptions option. More parcels means savings! The advantages of a parcel subscription include a fixed price for the duration of the contract and a free courier pick-up for just one parcel.

What should I pack my TV for courier delivery?

The best packaging to use for shipping is that in which the TV has been packaged by the manufacturer. One reason is the sheer size of such a box. Sending the TV by courier - without an accurately fitting protective carton - runs the risk of damaging the equipment. This is why the original cardboard box should not be thrown away as long as the TV is in use. However, the original packaging is not sufficient and should be placed in an additional cardboard box.

The box in which the manufacturer packed the equipment is also worth leaving because of the polystyrene caps that protect the corners of the device. These are shaped to fit snugly around the casing of this particular model of TV. When attached to a layer of bubble wrap or wrapping paper, the whole thing will be an ideal protection against bruises and chipping of the outer shell of the device.

When packing your appliance, you need to be aware not only of how to send your TV safely by courier, but also what you should not do. Above all, you have to be careful with the choice of filling. Unlike many other things, polystyrene granules, wood wool and other highly fragmented materials cannot be used. The particles could penetrate through the gaps in the casing, which are used to dissipate heat from within, and damage parts of the appliance. Instead, it is better to choose foam sheets or air bags.

Instructions for safe packaging of the TV for courier delivery

How do you send a TV by courier? It is not a difficult task. What's more, the individual steps can be summarised in just a few points. As a result, it will take no more than a few minutes to prepare the device for shipping. Check it out step by step:

  1. Clean the TV with a soft cloth to get rid of dust from the casing.
  2. Disconnect all cables and accessories such as the wall mount. Pack them in plastic bags. Put the remote control in such a bag separately.
  3. Secure the screen with bubble wrap. Then wrap the entire TV with another layer. The casing can also be wrapped with wrapping paper. Use strong tape to adhere the protective material.
  4. Put the equipment in the carton, making sure beforehand that it is not heated. If you can, use the original packaging for this. Cover the corners of the TV with the polystyrene pads provided by the manufacturer. If you don't have any, try to fit the polystyrene foam yourself so that it adheres as snugly as possible to the casing of the appliance.
  5. Fill the remaining free space of the box with foam sheets or air bags.
  6. Pack the whole still in an additional cardboard box due to the fact that the TV box is an internal protection.
  7. Done! The TV is packed. Now all you have to do is send the package with InPost.
