How do I pack a reed for shipment? How to protect it properly?

Sending reeds by courier is quite a non-standard activity (unless, of course, someone is involved in it professionally). However, it is not impossible, you just need to stick to a few key rules. Find out how to pack your reed flowers for shipping and how to protect your reed from damage.

Shipping reeds and flower arrangements - is it a good idea?

The centrepieces usually serve as decoration for important festive occasions. You can use a festive composition to decorate your home or table at Christmas or Easter. They are also often bought around All Saints' Day to place on the graves of loved ones. But what can you do to give such a reed to a family that lives at the other end of Poland? If you don't want to or can't deliver it yourself, then courier delivery remains. But is this possible?

As much as possible, you can send such an arrangement by courier. However, please note that you can only send dried or artificial flowers or plants via InPost. Such items will not be damaged and can also be slightly adjusted to the size of the cardboard box. Proper packing of a parcel, especially a fragile one, depends on the sender.

How to properly protect a reed from damage during transport?

Sending a reed in a parcel, especially one with non-standard dimensions, is not an easy task. This is why you need to prepare for it properly - you will need the right packaging materials and accessories to send this type of decoration. These include:

• a large, stiff cardboard box (preferably one with triple walls) or a box;
• wide and robust adhesive tape;
• bubble wrap or cellophane;
• black stretch film;
• A rigid board, slightly wider than the bottom of the reed stand;
• a piece of polystyrene foam of similar dimensions to the board;
• triptychs.

Of course, you will also need a shipping label once your parcel has been packed. Packing stools for shipping step by step

Shipping small reeds is not complicated. All you need to do is secure them with cellophane or bubble wrap and make them rigid. The problem arises with larger arrangements. If you intend to pack such gifts, you need to prepare yourself accordingly. How to pack the flowers or, more precisely, the entire garland, so that they are not damaged? An example of how to pack a reed:

1. Seal the bottom of the cardboard box with tape at the very beginning.
2. Then glue a small board in the very centre (outside) with strong glue.
3. Make small sized holes in the cardboard on the four sides of the board. Then make two long lines out of trivets. Thread them through the holes of the holes crosswise so that the ends are inside the cardboard.
4. Lay a piece of polystyrene foam in the middle of the cardboard (this time on the inside). It should be in the same place as the board.
5. Then wrap the reed pot in bubble wrap or cellophane and seal it with tape so that the wrap does not spread to the sides.
6. Place the reed on the polystyrene, then fasten it together with protruding triptychs. Do this between plants that are as close to the pot as possible.
7. At the very end, seal the carton with adhesive tape and wrap it in stretch film.

Thus prepared, the parcel with the reed made of artificial flowers is ready for dispatch.
