Shipping glass items does not have to be stressful at all due to the fear of damaging the products in transit! All you need to do is secure the package correctly. This is particularly important for cosmetic products in flacons. How do I pack my perfume and other care accessories so that they arrive safely at their destination?
Can perfumes and cosmetics in glass containers be sent by courier?
Perfumes and cosmetics in glass packaging are sometimes problematic during transport. Incorrectly packaged flacons can be accidentally broken, creating a risk of injury. Unfortunately, the potential problems do not end there. The substances of care products are usually oily to the touch and have an intense aroma. In addition, spills are capable of damaging other packages.
However, this does not mean that our company does not accept shipments of products of this type. Shipping cosmetics in glass containers is possible at InPost ! We have created a special guide to help you prepare them so that they reach their addressee unscathed.
The recommendations on how to pack perfumes for shipping are clear. Cosmetics should:
- be in its original packaging (where possible);
- do not exceed 750 ml capacity ;
- be protected against leakage (we recommend using airtight plastic bags);
- be packaged using the so-called carton-to-box method .
Unfortunately, we do not accept the shipment of aerosol care items and ADR/LQ goods. Pressurised containers could leak and, in extreme cases, even explode. We must take every precaution. All other cosmetic products are permitted. We recommend send them via Parcel Machine using the Fast Shipping service or by using the InPost Mobile application (As this method does not require a shipping label to be affixed, it is suitable for those without access to a printer).
What is the best way to pack perfumes and cosmetics in glass containers?
There are several ways to package perfumes and cosmetics in glass containers to minimise the risk of damage to them . These are simple methods that anyone can manage. It will be useful to be organised:
- at least two cardboard boxes (one will be placed inside the other);
- filler (e.g. environmentally friendly scropak would be ideal);
- wrapping paper;
- a plastic bag (e.g. ziplock bag);
- adhesive or packing tape;
- bubble wrap;
- rubber bands.
Packaging of perfumes and cosmetics in glass for dispatch by parcel machine
The cosmetics in their original packaging should be placed in a bag and then wrapped with a rubber band so that the package cannot be opened accidentally. The next step is to place the prepared whole into the first cardboard box and then pour the filler into it. Once closed, it will be necessary to wrap the box with adhesive or packing tape, then with bubble wrap.
There is nothing left to do but put the first carton in the second carton and reuse the filler . The first box should not be able to move inside the second box, but at the same time it must not come into direct contact with it through the walls. The extra cushioning and space will ensure that all accidental shocks do not threaten to shatter the flacons. Finally, all you need to do is stick the shipment label correctly, i.e. on the top surface of the packaging, avoiding the area around the closure and joints. If you are sending via InPost Mobile, it is not necessary to print the label,
How do you wrap a perfume in paper?
Eco-friendly people who would like to reduce their plastic consumption may be tempted to replace plastic bags with paper. Unfortunately, it must be borne in mind that this counts as a risky measure, as it is not waterproof.
We therefore recommend using several layers, and the paper itself should be thick and, if possible, matt rather than slippery (it shows greater absorbency). But how do you pack a parcel? Quite the same as a gift parcel.
How do you package a perfume without a box?
What should I do when shipping perfume, for example, used perfume that no longer has its original box? There are two solutions to the problem: pack the product into a third, size-matched replacement carton or use string bags filled with scrooge and bubble wrap (and then still into two more boxes). Nothing prevents you from using both methods at the same time.
