Poland's first electric car has already hit the roads. We are, of course, talking about the Vosco EV2 model. But what about the launch of the next, long-announced Polish electric car? ElectroMobility Poland has unveiled its production plans. From this article you will find out when the new Polish electric car will be available for sale.
Polish electric car Vosco EV2 - when did the premiere take place?
When there was talk of Poland's first electric car, the media hype centred around the Izera, which is owned by ElectroMobility Poland. However, production was delayed due to the pandemic and they were overtaken in the launch of the car by another Polish automotive company, Vosco, also known as Vosco Automotive. The Vosco EV2 model, dubbed the Syrena of Kutno, is almost entirely of Polish manufacture, although its performance is not able to compete with car models from overseas. The maximum speed the vehicle can reach is 140 km/h, and the range oscillates around 210-250 kilometres. The car has a power output of 156 km (115 kW) and is equipped with a 31.5 kWh battery and homologation. At a fast-charging station, it will reach 100% in one hour, and with a home socket it will take between 10 and 11 hours. The premiere of the Polish electric car took place in October last year (2021), but interest in Izera cars returned shortly afterwards.
When is the premiere of the Polish electric car Izera scheduled?
Izera is the brand name of Poland's heralded newest electric car and is named after the Izera Mountains. ElectroMobility Poland is set to launch two electric car models, the Izera Hatchback and Izera Suv. Admittedly, only the former of these cars will go into production so far (the latter is only a demonstration model), but fans of electric motoring are certainly looking forward to the premiere. So what will this model look like?
So far, only the prototype of the Polish Izera electric car has been presented. All the technical specifications of the vehicle are not fully known. What is known is that its range is expected to be around 400 kilometres and that it will accelerate to 100 km/h in eight seconds. The Polish electric car will also be equipped with several systems, including Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW). What is known, however, is how the car will be designed. The Italian studio Torino Design is responsible for the design, including, in particular, a designer who has worked with Jaguar - Tomasz Jelec. As far as Polish production is concerned, it is difficult to find it in technical terms (only 30% of the components will come from Poland), while as far as the car's equipment is concerned, most of it is indigenous.
Polish electric car vs. premiere - when will the debut on Polish roads take place?
The exact date of the Polish electric car's launch is as yet unknown. All we know is that the car is expected to hit the production line in 2023 and go on sale the following year. But why so late? Well, before the parts hit the production line, a factory had to be erected first. The small town of Jaworzno was chosen as the site, but work was delayed by the fact that land had to be purchased from the State Forests. Importantly, the Izera will not be sold in traditional showrooms, but in so-called concept stores and pop-up stores. Once the model is built and goes on sale, the manufacturer assumes that around 70% of the vehicles will be for export.
However, we still have to wait a little longer for the premiere of the Polish car. So far, only the design of the model and preliminary technical data are known.
