At InPost, we are strongly committed to supporting pro-environmental attitudes. Our aim is to minimise the impact of our activities on the environment and to inspire others to take action to protect the planet.
In terms of the amount of waste produced per citizen, Poland is in the disgraceful lead in Europe and less than 40% of our waste is recycled. Although we have made huge progress over the past decade or so, we still have a problem with proper segregation and storage of waste, which often ends up on wild dumps. Also in forests and other natural areas, where they pose a threat to birds and animals. The aim of the Clean Tatra project, of which we are a proud partner, is to change our habits and to sensitise the public about environmental care and proper waste segregation.
This year's edition of the Clean the Tatras initiative took place from 30 June to 1 July at the Upper Krupowa Equation in Zakopane. The joint cleaning of the Tatra Mountains is the culmination of a year-long effort by the Tatra National Park and the Czysta Polska Association to promote respect for the environment and broaden ecological awareness. The project attracts a growing number of mountain and ecology lovers every year, setting out on the trails with one common goal: to make them waste-free. The event brings together volunteers who want to leave a good footprint and for whom ecology is not just a passing trend. Also on the trails were InPost employees involved in the InPost InHelp employee volunteering! Almost 100 of our volunteers joined the Clean Tatras project this year. Together with 2,000 other people, they freed the Tatras from 330 kg of rubbish!
All event participants could also visit the InPost stand in the eco zone, where they could take part in interesting workshops and learn more about activities within the Closed Circuit Economy. During the first day of the event, there was a screening of two films from the Green Film Festival, Europe's largest environmental film festival, of which we are also a partner. The festival will already begin on 13 August in Krakow 🙂 For 8 festival days, the audience will be able to see the best Polish and international productions talking about environmental issues.
The Clean Tatras Project has once again reminded us that it is only up to us how long we can enjoy beautiful, litter-free nature. Thank you for your commitment, #InPostTeam! 💛
