We are all looking forward to this special period - Christmas is fast approaching! We have known for a long time that it is a magical, but also a very, very intense time. Picking out Christmas presents is quite a challenge, especially in the flurry of daily chores. However, we have some BREAKING NEWS for you: we are introducing guaranteed delivery of packages before Christmas!
The delivery guarantee will cover all parcels that have been posted by the seller (will be in the InPost network) to Monday 21 December inclusive. We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that you can collect your Christmas orders from over 10,000 Parcel Machines all over the country!
In order to give you an idea of the details of the offer, we have prepared questions and answers for you, which will dispel (we hope!) any doubts you may have about the delivery of your Christmas gifts.
We invite you to read our compilation of questions and answers.
- Is there an additional charge for the service?
No, there is no additional charge for the service.
- What does it mean to deliver a parcel "to us/in the InPost network"? What status should my parcel have so that I can be sure it will arrive before Christmas?
The term "delivered to us/in the InPost network" means respectively:
- Transfer courier InPost by the Sender on Monday 21 December at the latest. This means that on this day the parcel should have the status "Received from Sender". Ideally, you should place your order over the weekend (19-20 December 2020), but if it is on a Monday, it is essential to make sure that the seller hands over the parcel to our courier the same day.
- Placing the parcel in a Parcel Machine by Monday, 21 December, by 3 p.m. This means that the parcel should have the status "Shipped in Parcel Machine" before this hour.
- Hand over the parcel to the Parcel Service Point by Monday, 21 December, by 3 p.m. This means that the parcel should have the status "Shipped at Parcel Service Point" before this hour.
- Does this apply to all Branches? Will all InPost Branches be delivering parcels?
Yes, this applies to all Branches.
- How can I check if the seller sent the package on 21 December?
Your package should receive one of the following statuses on Monday, 21 December:
- "Received from Sender" - where the shop has handed over the parcel directly to the courier.
- "Shipped in a Parcel Machine" - if the shop has sent the parcel in a Parcel Machine.
- "Shipped at a Parcel Service Point" - if the shop has shipped the parcel at a Parcel Service Point.
If the status of your parcel in the app is "In preparation" - please contact the shop. It is possible that the shop has prepared your parcel but has not forwarded it to the courier or posted it personally. In this case, your package may not reach you before Christmas.
- Can the sender place parcels in the Parcel Post until 3pm and the guarantee will apply?
So in order for the parcel to reach you by 24 December, it must be placed in a Parcel Machine by Monday, 21 December, by 3pm.
- What if the sender delivers the parcel to the Parcel Point after 3pm, will the guarantee apply?
In order for the parcel to reach you by 24 December, the handover of the parcel to the Parcel Post should take place by a maximum of 15:00 on Monday, 21 December.
- What does it mean before Christmas Eve? By what time will shipments be posted?
Before Christmas Eve means that parcels will be delivered to the Parcel Machine on 24 December at the maximum.
- What if, on 23 December, the parcel is stored in a Parcel Machine or Parcel Post and is not delivered to the Parcel Machine of my choice? Will the declaration be honoured?
In the case of an overcrowded Parcel Machine, the parcel will be transferred to another Parcel Machine or MPOK (Mobile Parcel Machine) located near the target Parcel Machine. On 23 and 24 December, parcels will be stored only in Parcel Machines so that they can be collected 24/7. On these days, we will not store parcels in a Parcel Point.
- Does the guarantee apply only to parcel post or also to courier deliveries?
Guaranteed delivery for both parcels ordered to a Parcel Machine or Parcel Post and home delivery, with a guarantee for courier parcels that we will make the first delivery attempt no later than 24 December.
- Are parcels ordered to a Parcel Point covered by the guarantee?
Yes, parcels ordered to a Parcel Point are covered by the guarantee. However, we recommend that before ordering to a particular Parcel Point you check what days and times the Parcel Point is open, as the opening hours of the points on 24-31 December may differ from the standard.
- Does the guarantee only cover placement? What if the parcels are placed by Christmas Eve and the Parcel Machine breaks down?
In the event of a Parcel Machine breakdown, every effort will be made to ensure that all parcels placed in a Parcel Machine can be collected. In the event of a prolonged malfunction, the parcels will be handed over for dispatch to a MPOK (Mobile Parcel Machine) located near the originally selected Parcel Machine, or will be handed over for dispatch in another manner individually agreed with the recipient, in accordance with the applicable regulations.
- What if the shop informs me that the parcel has been placed in the Parcel Machine by 3pm, but the parcel does not register (I do not receive such information from InPost)?
If you have sent a parcel by Parcel Machine, you should receive the status "Shipped in Parcel Machine" on Monday by 3 p.m. at the latest. If this status does not appear, it means that the shop did not successfully send the parcel within this time limit. In such a situation, please contact the shop directly.
- What about oversize parcels, i.e. parcels in which the sender has incorrectly declared the size or weight of the parcel? Does the delivery guarantee also apply here?
In the case of parcels whose dimensions or weight do not meet the requirements (wrong size designation, excessive dimensions or weight), the delivery guarantee does not apply.
- What if the package does not arrive despite the guarantee? Can I count on compensation? Should I make a claim straight away?
If the parcel has been posted and received by Monday, 21 December, one of the following statuses:
- "Received from Sender" - when the Sender has handed the package directly to the courier
- "Shipped in Parcel Machine" (status by 3 p.m.) - if the Sender has sent the parcel in a Parcel Machine
- "Shipped at Parcel Service Point" (status by 15:00) - if the Sender has sent the parcel at a Parcel Service Point
... and has not been delivered by 24 December, the customer has the right to make a complaint in accordance with the applicable regulations. Each complaint is considered individually. In the case of courier parcels, the first delivery attempt is deemed to be the fulfilment of the guarantee.
We hope that the introduction of guaranteed delivery before Christmas will make the coming Christmas at least a little calmer and more enjoyable. Merry Christmas!
