"This is the fifth time we have offered our customers a delivery guarantee before Christmas. This year we have set the bar really high for ourselves! Thanks to the quality of InPost's service, every parcel sent by 21 December, according to the posting hours, will still be delivered before Christmas Eve! We are aware that in the last days before Christmas, many parcels that arrive in Paczkomat® devices are Christmas presents that need to arrive on time. Therefore, we guarantee the delivery of these parcels, even for last-minute purchases." - underlines Rafał Brzoska , chairman and founder of InPost.
Thanks to the guarantee, you can order your Christmas gifts without stressing that they will not arrive in time to be put under the tree. However, we recommend that you don't leave everything to the last minute and that you order gifts for your loved ones as early as possible, just to be safe.
In order to acquaint you with all the details, we have prepared for you a summary of some of the most frequently asked questions with answers. We hope that they will dispel your doubts related to the Christmas gift delivery guarantee.
1. is there an additional charge for the guaranteed delivery service before Christmas?
No, there is no extra charge for this service - it applies to all shipments.
2. what does it mean for a parcel to be delivered "to us/in the InPost network"? What status should my parcel have so that I can be sure it will arrive before Christmas?
The term "delivered to us/in the InPost network" means respectively:
Handover to the InPost courier by the Sender on Thursday 21 December at the latest. This means that on this day the parcel should have the status "Received from Sender". Ideally, you should place your order between 18 and 20 December, but if it is only on Thursday, 21 December, it is essential to make sure that the retailer hands over the parcel to our Courier the same day - by 1 p.m. and even by 4 p.m. in some areas.
Place the parcel in the Parcel Machine by Thursday, 21 December by 1pm (or even 4pm in some areas). This means that before this hour, the parcel should have the status "Shipped in Parcel Machine".
Hand over the parcel to the Parcel Service Point by Thursday, 21 December by 13:00 (in some zones by 16:00). This means that before this hour, the parcel should have a status of "Shipped at Parcel Service Point".
You can check the collection times for parcels in individual towns at: https://inpost.pl/en/godziny-odbiorow by entering your postcode.
Does this apply to all Branches? Will all InPost Branches be delivering parcels?
Yes, this applies to all Branches.
4. will the Parcel Weekend service operate on Saturday (23.12) and Christmas Eve (Sunday, 24 December)?
No, the Parcel Weekend service will not operate on the weekend of 23-24 December.
5. how can I check if the seller has sent the package on 21 December?
Your package should receive one of the following statuses on Thursday, 21 December:
"Collected from Sender" - in the event that the shop has handed over the parcel directly to the Courier.
"Shipped by Parcel Machine" - if the shop has sent the parcel via Parcel Machine.
"Shipped at a Parcel Service Point" - if the shop has shipped the parcel at a Parcel Service Point.
If the status of your parcel in the app is "In preparation" - please contact the shop. It is possible that the shop has prepared your parcel but has not forwarded it to the courier or posted it personally. In this case, your package may not reach you before Christmas.
6. when the sender places the parcels in the Parcel Machine on 21 December, will the guarantee apply?
So in order for the parcel to reach you by 24 December, it must be placed in the Parcel Machine by Thursday, 21 December by 1pm, and in some areas by 4pm.
You can check the collection times for parcels in individual towns at: https://inpost.pl/en/godziny-odbiorow by entering your postcode.
What if the sender delivers the parcel to the Parcel Post later than the stated hours - will the guarantee apply?
In order for the parcel to reach you by 24 December, the delivery of the parcel to the Parcel Post should be made by a maximum of 13:00 on Thursday, 21 December, and by 16:00 in some areas.
You can check the collection times for parcels in individual towns at: https://inpost.pl/en/godziny-odbiorow by entering your postcode.
8 What does pre-Christmas Eve mean? By what time will consignments be posted?
The term 'before Christmas Eve' means that parcels will be delivered by Parcel Machine on 24 December at the most.
What if the parcel is stored in a Parcel Machine or Parcel Point on 23 December and is not delivered to the Parcel Machine of my choice? Will the declaration be honoured?
In the case of an overcrowded Parcel Machine, the parcel will be transferred to another machine or MPOK (so-called Mobile Parcel Machine), located near the target Parcel Machine. On 23 and 24 December, parcels will be stored only in Parcel Machines so that they can be collected 24/7. On these days, we will not store parcels in Parcel Points.
10. does the guarantee apply only to parcel machine deliveries or also to courier deliveries?
Guaranteed delivery of both parcels with delivery by Parcel Machine or Parcel Post and home delivery, with a guarantee for courier parcels that we will make the first delivery attempt no later than 24 December.
11. are parcels ordered to a Parcel Point covered by the guarantee?
Yes, parcels ordered to a Parcel Point are covered by the guarantee. However, we recommend that before ordering to a particular Parcel Point you check what days and times the Parcel Point is open, as the opening hours of the points on 24-31 December may differ from the standard.
12 Does the guarantee only cover placement? What if the parcels are placed by Christmas Eve and the Parcel Machine breaks down?
In the event of a Parcel Machine breakdown, every effort will be made to ensure that all parcels placed in the machine can be collected. In the event of a prolonged breakdown, the parcels will be handed over for dispatch to the MPOK (Mobile Parcel Machine) located near the originally selected Parcel Machine, or will be handed over for dispatch in another manner agreed individually with the recipient, in accordance with the applicable regulations.
What if the shop informs me that the parcel has been placed in the Parcel Machine by 1 p.m. or 4 p.m. but the parcel is not registered (I do not receive such information from InPost)?
If you send a parcel via Parcel Machine, you should receive the status of the parcel "Shipped in Parcel Machine" no later than between 13:00 and 16:00 (depending on the location selected). If this status does not appear, it means that the shop did not successfully send the parcel within this time limit. In such a situation, please contact the shop directly.

What about oversize parcels, i.e. parcels in which the sender has incorrectly declared the size or weight of the parcel? Does the delivery guarantee also apply here?
In the case of parcels sent by Parcel Post whose dimensions or weight do not meet the requirements (wrong size designation, excessively large dimensions or weight), the delivery guarantee does not apply.
What if the package does not arrive despite the guarantee? Can I count on compensation? Should I make a claim straight away?
If the package has been posted and received by Thursday, 21 December, one of the following statuses:
"Received from Sender" - where the Sender has handed over the parcel directly to the courier,
"Shipped in Parcel Machine" (status at 13:00 or 16:00 depending on the zone) - if the Sender has sent the parcel in a Parcel Machine device
"Shipped at Parcel Service Point" (status at 13:00 or 16:00 depending on the zone) - if the Sender has sent the parcel at a Parcel Service Point
...and has not been delivered by 24 December, the customer has the right to make a complaint in accordance with the applicable regulations. Each claim is considered individually. In the case of courier parcels, the first delivery attempt is deemed to be the fulfilment of the guarantee.
We hope that InPost's guaranteed delivery will make the upcoming Christmas magical for you, and that the joy on the faces of your gifted loved ones will be a priceless gift!
Merry Christmas!
