The coronavirus pandemic has also negatively affected sport. In such a situation, professional athletes have to work really hard to stay in shape and stay on top. Good news comes to us from Serock, near Warsaw, where Polish javelin throwers - headed by Mateusz Krukowski - are currently training in a special training centre created... in their home backyard.
The strikers had quite recently still been in a closed centre in Belek, Turkey, but had to return to Poland due to the announced border closure. Due to the mandatory quarantine upon their return, Krukowski decided to turn his own property into a practical training centre.

If you are familiar with part four of the Rocky Balboa boxing film series and were convinced that such training does not happen every day, then you must admit you were wrong. A barbell made of a huge wooden log, lifting large and heavy tyres, flipping scrap metal, moving a car or pulling an old tractor - this is how you train in Serock!

The players report that the mood is excellent and training is going according to plan. We wish them good luck and much success in the upcoming tournaments!
