We are constantly taking care of the development of the Paczkomat InPost network and our application. This time, by introducing new functionalities, we are combining care for the environment with concern for the health and well-being of our customers.
Ecology and caring for the planet is written into the DNA of the InPost brand. This time, we took the problem of poor air quality under the microscope and decided to introduce special sensors installed on Parcel Machines.
Thanks to them, even before leaving home to pick up or send a parcel, each of our customers will be able to check in advance what the air quality is like in the vicinity of a specific Parcel Machine - everything simply, quickly and without fuss 😉 . Information on the state of the air can be found in our award-winning InPost applications Mobile - This can be done in two ways: by going to the "Place of collection" section next to the selected parcel or by searching for a Parcel Machine with a sensor on the map using the magnifying glass in the top right corner.
What do we actually measure? In the app, you will mainly find measurements particulate matter PM 2.5 - i.e. dust with a diameter of max. 2.5 μm (the most dangerous to health) and particulate matter PM 10 with a diameter of max. 10 μm (containing the most dangerous metals). In addition, some sensors will have the ability to test ozone concentrations (O₃), which has a negative effect on the respiratory system in particular, and concentrations of nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), which is produced by the combustion of fuels.
The air quality data is accurate and continuously updated. In addition to these measurements, the app will also provide up-to-date information on atmospheric conditions, i.e. temperature, pressure and humidity.
Did you know that... by choosing Parcel Machines you are taking a step towards better air quality? All because it is the most environmentally friendly form of delivery, and choosing Parcel Post reduces CO2 emissions by up to 75% !
"In addition to offering the most environmentally friendly delivery, we are also keen to provide our customers with information about the air quality in cities - that is why sensors will appear on the Parcel Machines, allowing us to track changes in air quality in real time through our app. It is no wonder that 77% of online shoppers are already choosing Paczkomaty InPost," says Rafał Brzoska, CEO of InPost.
Thanks to the air sensors, each of our customers will already be able to tell, before they go out to collect their awaited parcel, whether it is enough to wear a scarf or whether an anti-smog mask with a suitable filter is necessary. This information is particularly useful during the autumn and winter season, when the smog problem is on the rise.
We will be successively installing the sensors at Parcel Machines located in the partner cities of our proprietary Green City programme. If you don't already know - as part of Green City, we focus on innovation and the implementation of environmental initiatives in Polish cities.
We hope that the next feature in the InPost Mobile app will make your life a little easier and that the indicators will always be green - we wish that for you and us! 😊
You can download the InPost Mobile app from the official Google Play, App Store and Huawei AppGallery shops.
