Lublin with courier - general view
Lublin, I have the impression, is a somewhat underrated city. Somehow, you don't hear much about Lublin in the national media and I get the impression that people don't know much about Lublin. Meanwhile, Lublin is, after all, a big important city. I can assure you that courier deliveries to Lublin arrive efficiently and in large numbers. With over 300,000 inhabitants, Lublin is the ninth largest city in Poland, and the so-called Lublin agglomeration has over half a million inhabitants. There is someone to send these parcels to and courier companies cannot neglect Lublin. Depending on how you count the borders of the Lublin agglomeration, InPost customers living there can send and receive parcels in already more than 140 parcel machines and service points. Of these, we have almost a hundred in the Lublin area and seven in nearby Świdnik.
Like most historic cities, Lublin is situated on a river - the Bystrzyca - along which there are attractive green areas. These days, floating goods down the river may not be an option for a courier service, but the views are nice and on a sunny day a walk along the river is worthwhile. Enthusiasts of riverside landscapes can send and receive parcels at several service points and parcel machines located in the Wrotków district on Nałkowskich Street, closer to the centre on Nadbystrzycka Street and at the exit from the city towards the north-east on national road No. 82. Lublin is located on the varied terrain of the Lublin Upland - flat in the eastern part of the city and covered with numerous ravines, valleys and hills in the western part. It is surrounded by agricultural and forested areas. There are several picturesque landscape parks which are worth visiting on a clear day. Anticipating the question: of course you can use our courier service in the landscape park, or at least on its borders. We have a POP and parcel machine in Niemce, a village on the edge of the Kozłowski Landscape Park, and seven in Lubartów, north of the park (yes, the Lubartów from the famous Dudek cabaret sketch). At the very edge of the Nadwieprzański Landscape Park, there is a parcel machine in the village of Milejów and three parcel machines and a POP in Łęczna. The picturesque Łęczna-Włodawa Lake District, with the Polesie National Park and attractive recreational areas, is named after this town, located some 50 km north-east of Lublin. If you need to use our services while on holiday in the area, the nearest parcel machine is in Ostrow Lubelski.
Lublin on the way
Lublin has always been located on important trade routes. The first trade settlement on the Black Sea route existed here as early as the 6th century. In the 19th century, the city was connected to the Russian railway network by the Vistula railway, becoming an important industrial and commercial centre. Today, Lublin remains an important city on the route from the EU to Ukraine. Thanks to its location - about 170 km from the Polish capital and about 100 km from the border crossing - it is an ideal place for a company doing business with Ukraine. These companies probably make frequent use of courier services, especially as, despite its undoubted advantages, Lublin is not, however, a large metropolis and is located in a less developed part of the country. This means that companies operating from Lublin will inevitably be forced to cooperate with contractors in other parts of the country, because not everything can be arranged locally. Cheap couriers are a key resource for a company here. Fortunately, a courier company such as InPost is able to ensure smooth communication between businesses in remote parts of the country. A courier delivery takes just two working days to reach a customer, and parcel post deliveries reach their destination the very next day in 90% of cases (on weekdays and, if you're lucky, also on Saturdays). Let's not deceive ourselves, it only takes a little longer than it takes to get from Marki to Pruszków or from Wawer to Łomianki on weekdays through Warsaw traffic.

At the same time, Lublin remains well connected to the rest of the country. As already mentioned, it is only 170 km from the capital. It also has a very decent ring road that goes around the city (on which courier vans full of parcels pass unhindered). The ring road is an express route and part of the planned Via Carpathia. The aforementioned former Tsarist railway line connecting Warsaw and Kyiv also passes through Lublin. And, of course, there is a parcel machine at the main railway station, where you can easily pick up or send parcels, not only on working days, but 7 days a week, 24 hours a day! Finally, Lublin also has an international airport, located in Świdnik. Available flight destinations include the UK, Israel, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Ukraine and Sweden. These are a sad testament to unemployment in Lubelskie, as the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium and Sweden are popular destinations for people leaving for work.
Since the name Świdnik has already been mentioned, perhaps it is appropriate to write a few words about this town. More than the Lublin airport, Świdnik is known for the WSK PZL Świdnik helicopter factory, which in the past produced the Mi-1 and Mi-2 helicopters and the iconic WSK motorbikes, and now, among others, the PZL W-3 Sokół, Anaconda and SW-4 helicopters. Świdnik has been on the map since the end of the 17th century and now has a population of over 40,000. The city is located about 10 km east of Lublin.
How to send a parcel from Lublin
If you're the type of person who doesn't like sitting at a computer, or you just like walking around Lublin (after all, it's a nice city, spring is coming, the weather is getting better...), then you can send a parcel on your way to school/work/home, directly at the Parcel Machine . Not at every parcel machine unfortunately, or at least not at every one. The key is whether the parcel machine supports card payments, because if it doesn't, you'll have to pay with Blik, or with funds from the Parcel Manager. But don't worry: when walking past a parcel machine (since you like to walk around anyway...) you can check if it has a payment terminal, or you can find out from the InPost website. Rest assured, there are some such parcel machines in the Lublin area. For example, the parcel machine on the corner of Bolesława Prusa Street and Solidarności Avenue (one of the closest from the Old Town) supports card payments. On the other hand, if you like walking by the river, I recommend the parcel machine near the market on 1 Turystyczna Street - it supports card payments, and it is less than 500 metres to the Bystrzyca River. Finding a parcel machine is the only problem in this case, because everything else is trivial. You pack your parcel, find the right parcel machine and select the "Send parcel" option on its screen. Next, you select the size (which is important as your package must fit in the box), enter the recipient's and your telephone numbers, and then select the parcel machine to which you want to send the package. You then follow the on-screen instructions (they may ask you for the sender's email address or yours). You will pay for the parcel to be posted by payment card or Blik directly at the parcel machine, and once you have paid, the parcel machine will open the appropriate box. Once you have placed the parcel in the box and closed the door, you can consider the parcel as posted. You will receive confirmation of posting by email and text message. This is a good option for spontaneous people, because all they have to do beforehand is pack the parcel. What's more, you can send your parcels not only on weekdays during certain hours, but seven days a week, 24 hours a day. So if you want to send a parcel while walking around Lublin at night, no problem!

However, if you don't want to interrupt your walk to carry out the entire parcel delivery procedure and spend so much time at the parcel machine, you can use InPost's services using the website https://inpost.pl/SzybkieNadania/ (even if you do not have and do not wish to have an account in Parcel Manager). Once on the site, select the form of parcel (the system allows you to send by courier and to a parcel machine) and its size, as well as the parcel machine from which it will be sent. Then enter the sender's and recipient's details (name, e-mail address and telephone number) in the form. Of course, it is also necessary to select the parcel machine for collection or to enter the exact delivery address (for parcels that courier delivers by hand). On the right-hand side, a special box is visible at all times, which summarises the choices you have made (not life, unfortunately, but only for the parcel) and the resulting price. Finally, you have to accept the terms and conditions of the courier company, pay by online transfer and print the label. With the label on the parcel, you can go to the previously indicated parcel machine where you simply scan the code from the label to open the box and put the parcel into it. You can do all this at any time of day or night, as both the parcel machine and, of course, the website, are open not only on working days, but seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
On the other hand, if you do not intend to leave the safe walls of your flat, you can order a collection of parcels by courier . Maybe you don't like Lublin so much that you don't want to see it for posting. Or maybe you just have such a beautiful view from your window and such a comfortable flat that you don't want to leave. Or maybe you're under house arrest? Quarantine? Agoraphobia? Whatever your reasons, if you have an InPost Parcel Manager account and spend less than £5 extra, a courier will come to you to collect your parcels. And if you're sending five or more parcels at once, you can have the courier drive up for free. To send parcels with courier pick-up, you fill in the parcel delivery form in Parcel Manager as usual, providing the exact details of the recipient and specifying the size of the parcel to be sent. As a way of sending a parcel, select "I will create a collection order - the parcel will be collected by InPost courier (extra paid service)". The courier, of course, needs to know where to come, but you cannot simply enter an address - you have to define the pick-up locations beforehand, because InPost has to verify the address you provide. You do this under "My account > My pick-up points". If you already have your pick-up points defined, now select one of them. After filling in the form, you can generate a label for your parcel. The Parcel Manager will tell you the cost of sending the parcel, which you can cover from the funds you have in the Manager or by online transfer. Finally, click on the "Pay, print and send" button. The amount for generating the label will be covered by the funds you have in the Parcel Manager or you will pay by bank transfer. Print the label created in the form of a *.pdf file and then prepare the parcel, taking care to pack it properly. Stick the label on the parcel and wait for the courier to arrive. The courier will of course arrive on working days.
