Pick up and send gifts anytime, any day!
InPost - the leader in modern logistics in Poland - has been offering all Poles the use of its network of already 10,000 devices since Mikołajki. A machine with this number was launched on 6 December in Wroc³aw at 19 Lodzka St. The "Mikołajowy" Paczkomat® is medium-sized, measuring 10 m in length, has 19 columns, nearly 200 boxes and is the 239th such device in Wroc³aw alone. This and every other Paczkomat® in Poland makes it possible not only to collect presents at any time, but also to easily send them there.
"For us, this year's 6 December also brought a surprise. Our Paczkomat® No. 10,000 has just been erected, and although it was not a gift, but the result of many years of hard work - we look with pride at the world's largest network of Paczkomat® InPost machines with integrated logistics. It is a huge number of machines which deliver millions of parcels to Poles every day. It beats courier deliveries by far in terms of quality and speed, and online shoppers are most likely to choose this delivery option - which is the best recommendation for us. This year, we have worked very hard to develop our infrastructure - the number of InPost machines has increased by more than 4,000 devices over the past year, i.e. by 66.7 per cent, we have expanded the 3,000 machines already in operation, and the area of sorting and logistics centres has increased by 61 per cent. We are currently - after Amazon and Zalando - the leader in the lease of warehouse space in Poland, we have also introduced Paczkomat® InDoor - a device located inside buildings, new services for online shops or city halls, we are investing in an electric car fleet - but above all, we are introducing further novelties to our mobile application . It is the one that gives users attractive functionalities - remote opening of lockers, management and tracking of parcels and, more recently, the sending of parcels in any Paczkomat® InPost device." - points out Rafał Brzoska, CEO of InPost.
Brzoska adds that - despite the largest investment programme in the company's history - there may be a shortage of seats in some locations at InPost's Paczkomat® machines in the run-up to Christmas. "This year we have more than 4,000,000 more machines than last year, but... it's still not enough. Demand in the run-up to Christmas for deliveries to Paczkomat® InPost machines is huge and can result in a lack of capacity in some locations. We therefore ask our customers to collect their parcels as soon as possible and to shop ahead - but also apologise, as we are aware of the scale of volumes during this period. I can pledge that we are not slowing down and our investment programme will not stop next year." - underlines founder of InPost.
At the end of November, InPost implemented a revolutionary new service for sending parcels via an app. Parcels are posted at a Paczkomat® InPost machine - either to another machine belonging to the Paczkomat® network or to a designated home address. There is no need to stick any labels on the parcel - just an electronically generated QR code or a sending code in the app. You can pay for your parcel using a BLIK code. Further payment options will appear in the app in early 2021: payment card, fast transfers (pay-by-link), Apple Pay, Google Pay. The status of a shipped parcel can be tracked in the app, of course, but also at the inpost.pl in the 'Parcel Tracking' section and via the chatbot by entering the 24-digit parcel number. The InPost Mobile app already has 5.2 million active users.
InPost has also introduced a service "Parcel in a Weekend" - due to the growing demand for services using the Paczkomat® InPost device network. It enables deliveries to the devices also on Saturdays and Sundays - the cost of the service is PLN 4.99 gross. Under 'Parcels at the weekend', parcels are delivered to customers at the weekend if sending (i.e. transferring the parcel to the device or POP or placing an order for collection by the courier ), will take place by Saturday at 13:00.
The number of machines belonging to the Paczkomat® inPost machine network (10,000 machines in Poland) more than doubled the scale of Poczta Polska's own outlets (4,600[1]). InPost devices are also available in Poland at shops: Dino, Lidl, Kaufland, the Delikatesy Centrum chain of shops organised by the Eurocash Group, as well as in Auchan Shopping Centres. InPost has also signed a contract with the Auchan shop chain for the delivery of Refrigerators and a door-to-door delivery service . The functionalities of the InPost fridge machines allow for the safe storage and collection of food, beverages and frozen food ordered online from Auchan Direct. According to the Kantar TNS survey, as many as 40% of online shoppers want to collect their groceries in the Paczkomat® InPost machine network.
In addition, InPost - responding to market demand - has launched a Parcel Machine® InDoor . This type of device is specifically designed for indoor installation. With it, property owners provide their residents and tenants with the most advantageous and popular option for picking up their purchases. At the same time, they attract local residents to the location - allowing shops and service outlets to generate additional profits.
According to a Gemius report[2], the parcel machine is the most frequently chosen form of delivery - it has overtaken couriers. This type of delivery of goods is preferred by up to 61% of online shoppers. This marks an increase in the popularity of the service among internet users by as much as 9 percentage points compared to the results of the 2019 report. For the first time ever, the Paczkomat® InPost device network beat courier delivery in popularity, which is chosen by 55% of respondents - the first result of its kind in the world. In addition, as many as 68% of respondents declare that the possibility to pick up their purchases via InPost devices motivates them to buy from a specific online shop - an increase of 7 percentage points more year-on-year.
Each parcel can be sent and collected at a Paczkomat® InPost device via the free InPost Mobile app, which also offers the option to open the box remotely. The app already has 5.2 million active users and records several hundred thousand remote openings per day. The software was on the podium of the download list in the Google Play and Appstore for eight weeks. Thanks to the app, several people can receive parcels at the same time with one device, without having to stand in a queue. The InPost Mobile app can be downloaded from the Google Play, App Store and Huawei AppGallery shops.
InPost can also be contacted using Google Assistant. The conversation starts by calling a bot called ChatBot Mat with the phrase "Talk to InPost". Customers can ask about, among other things, the status of their parcel, the nearest Parcel Machine® and, new to the bot, the number for the courier. The same Bot is also available on Messenger, with all its functionalities.
