Renewable energy powers all Paczkomat® machines in Poland

The InPost Group has signed an agreement with Polenergia – Poland’s largest private energy group. Thanks to this partnership, nearly 24,000 Paczkomat® parcel lockers in Poland and a significant proportion of its fleet of 1,300 electric vehicles will be powered by green energy! 💚⚡

• The PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) is a key step in the implementation of InPost’s Decarbonisation Strategy. Thanks to this agreement, the Group will reduce its CO2e emissions by almost 125,000 tonnes compared with the 2021 baseline year.
• The Dębsk Wind Farm, one of the largest in Poland, will generate around 366 GWh a year, which is enough to meet the energy needs of 183,000 households.

In recent years, the InPost Group has been implementing a range of measures aimed at reducing energy consumption in its operations – every new model of Paczkomat machine^® is characterised by lower electricity consumption. Furthermore, it introduces autonomous devices, namely Paczkomat machines^® equipped with solar panels in energy storage facilities, which are capable of generating electricity for themselves and a few nearby appliances.

In its new warehouses, InPost is using modern energy management and control systems, as well as installing solar panels. It is also looking for a zero-emission heating solution – in several facilities, heat pumps have been installed in both the office and warehouse areas instead of gas heating.
