Electric car charging stations - map of Polish power points
Electromobility in our country is only in its infancy, but more and more green vehicles can be seen on the roads. The development of the electric branch of motorisation is influencing the need for power points for zero-emission cars. In Poland, electric stations are not yet as numerous as abroad. However, the infrastructure is still expanding and the power points are increasing day by day.
What is the current map of electric car chargers in Poland? Data from January 2022 indicates that there are 1992 publicly accessible charging stations in our country. A total of 3893 power points have been installed within them. At today's stage of development, electric stations in Poland are mainly located in large cities and sometimes along major roads and motorways. Most charging points for electrics are located in the central part of the country.
If you are looking for an electric car charger, a map with exact power points is available on dedicated portals containing both domestic and foreign stations.
Are individual electric car charging stations different?
It is worth knowing that not all electric car charging stations are the same. Car charging points may have different types of chargers. Some stations have AC-type chargers and others have DC cables. The first type of charger uses alternating current and generally has lower amperage and power. Stations with DC chargers are distinguished by their shorter power supply for car batteries, as they are more powerful and use direct current.
In addition, each electric car charging point may have chargers with different plugs. At most stations in the European Union, you will find a charger that fits the Type 2 socket, as this is officially adopted and approved by the European Commission. If your car has a different type of socket or you are travelling outside the EU, make sure that the stations have the appropriate chargers. Alternatively, you can also equip yourself with a special adapter.
Are electric car charging stations free?
Until recently, charging cars was free at many points. However, over time, energy companies decided to put a price tag on the use of stations, their chargers and electricity. The map of free charging stations for electric cars has shrunk considerably. Currently, free power points can mainly be found near shopping centres, town halls or companies that provide chargers to their employees or possibly to their customers.
