Who is Magda Gorzkowska? Magda comes from Bytom and is a nutrition student at the SWSM. For 12 years she was a professional track and field athlete, specialising in the 400m. Since 2009, she has been a multiple Polish Champion in the 400-metre race, European Junior Vice-Champion (Tallinn 2011), European Youth Champion (Tampere 2013), and in 2012 she represented Poland at the Olympic Games in London. In 2016, Magda won silver at the World Indoor Championships in Portland in the 4x400m relay.
As well as sport, her great passion is climbing the world’s highest peaks. She has so far achieved the following:
- The Roof of Europe – Mont Blanc, 4,810 metres above sea level
- The roof of South America – Aconcagua, 6,962 metres above sea level
- Elbrus up to an altitude of approximately 5,100 metres above sea level
- Kilimanjaro – 5,895 metres above sea level
Her achievements are truly impressive, and her strong character, ability to cope in difficult circumstances and tenacious pursuit of her goals are a guarantee of success! :)
