New machines in office buildings, blocks of flats and shopping malls
InPost - the leader in modern logistics in Poland - is launching a new version of its popular Paczkomat® InDoor device. So far, InPost machines have been erected in outdoor areas - but the company, responding to market demand, has decided to introduce devices specifically for indoor installation. The machines will be erected in office buildings, blocks of flats, shopping malls and other modern service and residential buildings. The first of more than a dozen such machines already installed stood in the University of Warsaw Library.
"We are starting September with another revolutionary project, which is undoubtedly the Parcel Machine® InDoor. We decided to develop and build a new version of the device because we see huge potential in this solution. From now on, customers of shopping centres, employees of office buildings or residents of modern housing estates will have direct access to the exceptional quality of InPost services without leaving the building. The first Paczkomat® InDoor has been installed in a prestigious location, the University of Warsaw Library, in Warsaw's Powiśle district." - said Rafał Brzoska, CEO of InPost .
By providing their residents with a Paczkomat® InDoor, property owners provide them with the most advantageous and popular option for collecting their purchases, while attracting local residents to the location - allowing shops and service outlets to generate additional profits. This year, our deliveries to Paczkomat® InPost machines overtook courier deliveries in popularity - the first result of its kind in the world[1].
"By introducing new technologies and simple, functional solutions, the property owner takes care of the time and convenience of residents, and users, while increasing the attractiveness of their property. In addition, the Parcel Machine® is an environmentally friendly solution - deliveries to our machines mean up to 75% less CO2 emissions!" - underlines Rafał Brzoska.
Paczkomat® InDoor machines can operate both 24/7 - when access to a location allows it - and in a limited availability option. In such a situation, senders and recipients are informed of such a location and the time for collecting the parcel is extended.
It is only 197 cm high, so that transport inside the building is possible. The size of the machine can be modified and adapted to the location in which it will be placed, making it ideal for the interior of public buildings. The machine is equipped with a set of security cameras, as well as an easy-to-read interface for quick delivery.
In order to place a Parcel Machine® inside a building, only four requirements need to be met:
- The location in question must be within GSM network coverage;
- The parcel machine® needs a source of continuous power;
- The Parcel Machine® takes up very little space - it needs from 4m²;
- The applicant must be the owner of the land or have the right to dispose of it.
The number of machines (7,000 devices in Poland) exceeded the scale of Poczta Polska's own outlets (4,600[2]).
According to a Gemius report[3], the Paczkomat® InPost network of machines are the most frequently chosen form of delivery - they have overtaken couriers. This type of delivery of goods is preferred by up to 61% of online shoppers. This means an increase in the popularity of the service among internet users by as much as 9 percentage points compared to the results of the 2019 report. For the first time ever, the solution based on the Paczkomat® InPost device has beaten courier delivery in popularity, which is chosen by 55% of respondents - the first result of its kind in the world. In addition, as many as 68% of respondents declare that the possibility to pick up their purchases via InPost devices motivates them to buy from a specific online shop - an increase of 7 percentage points more year-on-year.

The company records several hundred thousand remote cache openings per day. The software stood on the podium of the download list in the Google Play and Appstore for eight weeks. Thanks to the app, multiple people can receive parcels at one machine at the same time. InPost will also soon make it possible to send parcels via an app installed on a smartphone. Z InPost can now also be contacted using Google Assistant. The conversation starts by calling a bot called ChatBot Mat with the phrase "Talk to InPost".
