Care Box erected at Wojewódzki Szpital Specjalistyczny im. dr Wł. Biegański in Łódź
InPost - the leader in modern logistics in Poland - has donated a mobile emergency room to the Dr Wł. Biegański Provincial Specialist Hospital in Łódź. The so-called Care Box - a small container with an area of 15 m², which can be easily adapted to a sanitary point and combined into larger structures - will serve as a diagnostic point for patients with suspected infections.
The modular emergency room is a valuable additional diagnostic point, adapted to sanitary needs and allowing easy and frequent disinfection. The finished, assembled facility was brought to its destination by truck and positioned at the hospital's designated location. Modular emergency rooms require no additional assembly, so they can be used immediately for the hospital's needs after delivery. JR Modular Systems manufactured the Care Boxes container for the hospital in its own factory, at cost and with no mark-up.
"With InPost's involvement and the donation of the container, we will be even better able to ensure the safety of our staff and patients presenting with suspected COVID-19 to our Hospital. The modular emergency room will provide additional space for swabbing procedures for those with suspected coronavirus infection. In addition, it will provide a facility for elective patients - so that they can be tested for COVID-19 in a safe manner and in compliance with the procedures in place. The delivery and installation of the container was carried out in a professional manner, and its location additionally forms part of the upgrading of the Hospital's accommodation base." - says Dawid Budny, Acting Deputy Director for Technical and Administrative Affairs at Wojewódzki Szpital Specjalistyczny im. dr Wł. Biegański in Łódź .
"As a leader in the logistics industry, we strive not only to provide the highest quality services, but also to help local communities in difficult times. That is why, at the request of the Lodz Hospital, we funded a mobile Emergency Room. We know very well how crucial it is to separate the two types of patients - those who are potentially infected with coronavirus and those in whom COVID-19 is not suspected - as effectively as possible in all hospitals in Poland. Inside the Care Box, patients with suspected virus in can safely - isolated from others - have a detailed epidemiological history taken and undergo appropriate testing. We believe that the Care Box will relieve the burden on the emergency room at the Dr Wł. Biegański Provincial Specialist Hospital in Łódź and increase the safety of other patients and medics fighting the pandemic, as well as other staff at the facility. Since the beginning of the pandemic outbreak, we have been bringing support to those who need it most at this special time. We have donated nearly 110,000 surgical masks to 18 hospitals in Poland, provided logistical support for 3D visor printing initiatives, respirator supplies or the fight against digital exclusion." - emphasised Rafał Brzoska, CEO of InPost.
"We often hear that a part of a hospital building is taken out of service due to the infection of one patient, and medical staff are quarantined. Such situations paralyse the work of the health service. We have therefore explored the interest in a modular emergency room, which will serve as a separate diagnostic room and minimise the risk of infections on hospital premises. We want to help as many hospitals as possible to organise their space and work during this difficult period." - says Jakub Stryjewski, co-owner of JR Modular Systems.
