14 December 2022
Christmas is getting closer and closer! If, in the Christmas rush, you haven't managed to order all the presents for your loved ones yet, we have good news for you - the InPost elves guarantee delivery before Christmas. This applies to parcels sent up to and including 22 December 2022.
Gingerbread baked? Christmas tree dressed? Presents bought? We hope so! And if not... InPost rushes to your aid and saves Christmas!!! 😉 ! We are ensuring delivery of all parcels before Christmas Eve. This applies to parcels sent by 13:00 on 22 December . This way, you can order your Christmas presents without the stress of them not arriving and being under the tree in time.
InPost couriers are working like Christmas elves - from 26 November, they also deliver and collect parcels every weekend. All this to ensure that all your presents reach you on time!
"For the 4th time, InPost customers can take advantage of our proprietary idea of a delivery guarantee before Christmas. This year, we have set the bar high for ourselves, and even higher than last year. We provide a delivery guarantee for parcels posted by sellers by 22 December, according to the posting hours - from 13.00 to even 16.00 - depending on the locality of posting or the sellers' individual arrangements with InPost. We are well aware that, especially in the last days before Christmas, a significant proportion of the parcels in the lockers of our Paczkomat® machines are Christmas gifts, which have to be delivered on time. That is why we have organised the entire logistics process in such a way that, as in previous years, every parcel with Christmas presents and purchases, even those made at the last minute, reaches the recipients before Christmas." - says Rafał Brzoska , CEO of InPost.
InPost couriers will do their best to deliver Christmas parcels ordered last minute on time! However, we advise you not to wait for the last moment and to be sure to order gifts for your loved ones as early as possible.
In order to acquaint you with all the details, we have prepared for you a summary of some of the most frequently asked questions with answers. We hope that they will dispel your doubts related to the Christmas gift delivery guarantee.
1. is there an additional charge for the guaranteed delivery service before Christmas?
No, there is no extra charge for this service - it applies to all shipments.
2. what does it mean for a parcel to be delivered "to us/in the InPost network"? What status should my parcel have so that I can be sure it will arrive before Christmas?
The term "delivered to us/in the InPost network" means respectively:
- Handover to the InPost courier by the Sender on Thursday 22 December at the latest. This means that on this day the parcel should have the status "Received from Sender". Ideally, you should place your order between 19-21 December, but if this is only on Thursday, 22 December, then be sure to make the seller hand over the parcel to our courier the same day.
- Placing the parcel in the Parcel Machine by Thursday, 22 December, by 1 p.m. This means that before this hour, the parcel should have the status "Shipped in Parcel Machine".
- Hand over the parcel to the Parcel Service Point by Thursday, 22 December, by 1 p.m. This means that the parcel should have the status "Shipped at Parcel Service Point" before this hour.
Does this apply to all Branches? Will all InPost Branches be delivering parcels?
Yes, this applies to all Branches.
4. will the Parcel Weekend service operate on Christmas Eve (Saturday 24 December)?
No, the Parcel Weekend service will not operate on Saturday, 24 December.
5. how can I check if the seller has sent the package on 22 December?
Your package should receive one of the following statuses on Thursday, 22 December:
- "Received from Sender" - where the shop has handed over the parcel directly to the courier.
- "Shipped in a Parcel Machine" - if the shop has sent the parcel in a Parcel Machine.
- "Shipped at a Parcel Service Point" - if the shop has shipped the parcel at a Parcel Service Point.
If the status of your parcel in the app is "In preparation" - please contact the shop. It is possible that the shop has prepared your parcel but has not forwarded it to the courier or posted it personally. In this case, your package may not reach you before Christmas.
6. can the sender place parcels in the Parcel Machine until 13:00 and the guarantee will apply?
So in order for the parcel to reach you by 24 December, it must be placed in the Parcel Machine by Thursday, 22 December, by 1pm.
7 What if the sender delivers the parcel to the Parcel Post after 13:00, will the guarantee apply?
In order for the parcel to reach you by 24 December, the handover of the parcel to the Parcel Post should take place by 13:00 on Thursday 22 December at the latest.
8 What does pre-Christmas Eve mean? By what time will consignments be posted?
The term 'before Christmas Eve' means that parcels will be delivered by Parcel Machine on 24 December at the most.
What if the parcel is stored in a Parcel Machine or Parcel Point on 23 December and is not delivered to the Parcel Machine of my choice? Will the declaration be honoured?
In the case of an overcrowded Parcel Machine, the parcel will be transferred to another machine or MPOK (so-called Mobile Parcel Machine), located near the target Parcel Machine. On 23 and 24 December, parcels will be stored only in Parcel Machines so that they can be collected 24/7. On these days, we will not store parcels in Parcel Points.
10. does the guarantee apply only to parcel machine deliveries or also to courier deliveries?
Guaranteed delivery of both parcels with delivery by Parcel Machine or Parcel Post and home delivery, with a guarantee for courier parcels that we will make the first delivery attempt no later than 24 December.
11. are parcels ordered to a Parcel Point covered by the guarantee?
Yes, parcels ordered to a Parcel Point are covered by the guarantee. However, we recommend that before ordering to a particular Parcel Point you check what days and times the Parcel Point is open, as the opening hours of the points on 24-31 December may differ from the standard.
12 Does the guarantee only cover placement? What if the parcels are placed by Christmas Eve and the Parcel Machine breaks down?
In the event of a Parcel Machine breakdown, every effort will be made to ensure that all parcels placed in the machine can be collected. In the event of a prolonged breakdown, parcels will be handed over for delivery to MPOK (Mobile Parcel Machine), located near the originally selected Parcel Machine, or will be handed over for delivery in another manner individually agreed with the recipient, in accordance with the applicable regulations.
What if the shop informs me that the parcel has been placed in the Parcel Machine by 1 p.m., but the parcel is not registered (I do not receive such information from InPost)?
If you send a parcel via Parcel Machine, you should receive the status of the parcel as "Shipped in Parcel Machine" by 1 p.m. at the latest. If such a status does not appear, it means that the shop did not successfully send the parcel within this time limit. In such a situation, please contact the shop directly.
What about oversize parcels, i.e. parcels in which the sender has incorrectly declared the size or weight of the parcel? Does the delivery guarantee also apply here?
In the case of parcels sent by Parcel Post whose dimensions or weight do not meet the requirements (wrong size designation, excessively large dimensions or weight), the delivery guarantee does not apply.
15. what if the package does not arrive despite the guarantee? Can I count on compensation? Should I make a claim straight away?
If the parcel has been posted and received by Thursday, 22 December, one of the following statuses:
- "Received from Sender" - when the Sender has handed the package directly to the courier
- "Shipped in Parcel Machine" (status by 13:00) - if the Sender has shipped the parcel in a Parcel Machine
- "Shipped at Parcel Service Point" (status by 13:00) - if the Sender has sent the parcel at a Parcel Service Point
...and has not been delivered by 24 December, the customer has the right to make a complaint in accordance with the applicable regulations. Each claim is considered individually. In the case of courier parcels, the first delivery attempt is deemed to be the fulfilment of the guarantee.
We hope that the introduction of InPost's guaranteed delivery before Christmas will make the coming Christmas merry and peaceful, that all parcels will reach their destination on time and that the joy on the faces of gifted loved ones will be a priceless gift!
Merry Christmas!
