Europe's largest e-commerce delivery platform
InPost - a leader among e-commerce delivery platforms in Europe - has successfully completed the acquisition of Mondial Relay, a leading French 'out-of-home' delivery company, in an agreement with Otto Group. The transaction was worth EUR 513 million. InPost will thus become Europe's largest delivery platform for e-commerce(link) .
The transaction will allow InPost to:
- Significant market expansion and acceleration of international growth strategy
- Entry into the attractive markets of France, Benelux and the Iberian Peninsula
- EBITDA growth of approximately EUR 100-150 million in the medium term
InPost and Mondial Relay together delivered more than 440 million parcels in 2020, supported by a network of around 28,000 APM and PUDO point locations. Mondial Relay, with its extensive network of PUDO outlets and extensive pan-European commercial relationships, will allow InPost to accelerate its international expansion plans. It will also provide an immediate presence in one of Europe's largest and most attractive e-commerce markets with a strong foundation of accelerated growth, Mondial Relay's scaled logistics network, extensive pan-European retail relationships and strong consumer recognition - providing a strong foundation for further growth.
In addition, InPost gains an established and fully integrated e-commerce delivery platform in Europe's third largest e-commerce market. Estimated at around €56 billion, the French e-commerce market boasts one of the highest 'out-of-home' delivery penetration rates in Europe - at around 40%.
