Up to 70% discount when shopping on AliExpress platform
InPost and AliExpress, the shopping platform owned by the Alibaba Group, have declared the current week as the Green Shopping Festival with Paczkomat® deliveries across Poland. In this way, InPost is contributing to reducing C02 emissions from deliveries from the AliExpress platform. Since the launch of the service, the volume of AliExpress deliveries to InPost machines has increased steadily - by as much as 100% between July and October this year alone. In addition, more than 50% of InPost deliveries are made within 10 working days of an order being placed, and by the end of the year this rate is expected to reach 100%. On 11 November alone, global purchases on the AliExpress platform totalled more than US$74 billion, 100% higher than on that day in 2019.
The AliExpress Green Shopping Festival is now available on the platform - the sale started on 11 November at 9 a.m. and will run until 13 November at 9 a.m. Interested parties can visit the AliExpress website or app, to get discounts on purchases of up to 70% . Delivery to Parcel Machine® InPost is available for orders processed via standard AliExpress shipping.
The partnership between InPost and AliExpress has reduced CO2 emissions during parcel delivery - equivalent to planting a pine forest the size of more than 75 football pitches in 2020 alone. The savings during this year's Green Shopping Festival are expected to be enough to plant a further 20 such areas.
InPost and AliExpress have started their collaboration and delivery to Paczkomat® InPost boxes nationwide in late 2019. The delivery option to InPost boxes can be selected when the buyer chooses AliExpress Standard Shipping.
For AliExpress, the commitment to reduce carbon emissions in deliveries is part of a wider commitment to sustainability - which has resulted in Alibaba founder Jack Ma being recognised as one of the UN's 2019 Sustainable Development Advocates.
The carbon footprint calculator developed by InPost indicates that if traditional home courier deliveries were replaced by delivery to a machine such as Paczkomat® the reduction in CO2 emissions would reach up to 75%.1 Delivering a parcel to an InPost machine means at least 0.35 kg less CO2 emissions into the atmosphere for each parcel. This makes InPost the most environmentally neutral logistics provider. The company continues to minimise its impact on the environment and to inspire others to take action to protect it.
When we choose standard parcel delivery by courier, we have a far greater environmental impact than when using a Parcel Machine®. The carbon footprint on average for a home delivery parcel is 0.659 kg of CO2 - taking into account the entire route of the parcel, with 0.294 kg of CO2 only in the last mile[1].
Meanwhile, the average results for deliveries to machines are just 0.229 kg of CO2 over the entire route and only 0.075 kg of CO2 over the last mile1 . The carbon footprint of deliveries by Parcel Machine® can be even lower if our arrival at the machine is also environmentally neutral - if we pick up the parcel on our way to work or while shopping, if we walk or cycle to it.
