692 new machines in the first half of 2020 alone
The network of Paczkomat® InPost machines - the leader in modern logistics in Poland - is now expanded to 7,000 machines. Paczkomat® No. 7000 was erected in Poznań. The development of the machine network is InPost's response to the dynamically increasing number of parcel volumes handled. The functionalities of the machines are being continuously developed - in March this year, a new service called 'Parcel on the Weekend' was launched, enabling parcels to be sent and collected from the machines also on Saturdays and Sundays, on a similar basis to every weekday. In addition, since mid-May, several parcels to one recipient have been placed in a single machine box, the so-called "Multiscreen". The ability to open the machines without contact, from the free InPost smartphone app, is extremely popular - it already has more than 4 million active users.
"Another Paczkomat® with a round number is a small InPost celebration for us. This machine stood in one of the largest cities in Poland in Poznań, at 11 Doliny St. The expansion of the network of machines is taking place at an almost express pace - this year alone we have already put up almost 700 new machines. The volumes of parcels we handle are growing by leaps and bounds, and the huge demand for contactless services is only increasing the number of our customers and the need to expand the network with new locations." - said Rafał Brzoska, founder and CEO of InPost.
Brzoska points out that although Paczkomat® No. 7000 went to Poznan, this year, out of nearly 700 new machines put up, most went to small towns and even villages. This week alone, new machines are due to arrive in Brzeszcze, Goszcz, Sulmierzyce, Zbójna, Koden, Nowa Kornica, Sulbina, Puchaczów, Łęczyca, Słupno, Malcanowo, Lipno, Gniewin, Kowalów and Hrubieszów, among others.
"Regardless of the size of the town, we want to be where our customers are. The popularity of the devices in both large cities and quite small ones is not surprising. As many as 80% of online shoppers declare that they most often pick up parcels at the Paczkomat® InPost machine network[1] . This result means that InPost machines are the most frequently chosen form of collecting parcels from e-shops by Poles. Thank you very much for the trust you place in us". - underlines Brzoska .
Paczkomat® InPost is the most frequently selected form of parcel collection from e-shops in Poland - as many as 80% of respondents choose this form of delivery[1]. The popularity of parcel collection at InPost machines is greater than the standard courier delivery to work or home. Paczkomat® InPost is also the second most popular form of sending goods, just after the Polish Post Office. The popularity of the traditional form of shipment is only 2% higher - almost the same number of people (51%) choose to send via InPost machines. As many as 79% of respondents have used machines to receive parcels in the last 3 months, and almost 1/3 of respondents have also posted parcels on machines.
