Gift fillers - how can we decorate our gifts?
27 December 2019
Giving gifts is a lot of fun. We can bring a smile to the face of our loved ones, friends or colleagues in this way. However, we often forget how important it is to wrap and decorate the items we want to give. In this way, even a trinket that is not very expensive can be transformed into a refined and phenomenal keepsake that will not end up at the bottom of a drawer. A suitable gift filler will certainly come in handy.
Gift fillers - what to fill a box with?
Throughout the year, many gift-giving occasions await us - birthdays, name days, holidays, anniversaries, anniversaries, Valentine's Day and many more. As a rule, our main focus is on finding an attractive gadget to suit the recipient's taste. We go to the shop or order products online and put the items in a gift bag.
However, it is worth remembering that giving gifts to another person is not about the object itself, but about the gesture and the intention. This is how we show our appreciation, friendship, respect and even love. Giving gifts is therefore a certain message that we do not express directly in words. It is also not uncommon for us to want to return a favour or help.
Giving gifts is usually more fun than receiving them. However, if you want to make the recipient feel really special, you should put more effort into making the gift stand out by decorating it. Putting time and energy into this process will make you see a genuine smile on the other party's face, and it really doesn't take much. It would be a good idea to use a variety of gift fillers . Their choice depends on what effect we want. For inspiration, here are some interesting suggestions:
- wood wool, or the popular "hay" - suits practically every occasion and is suitable for all gifts. No wonder it is one of the most popular gift fillers. It allows perfect use of the space in the box, while making the items look more valuable;
- sizal - The name of this gift filler sounds a little mysterious, but it is nothing more than a conglomeration of many small threads and fibres. Sisal is a very strong material obtained from a special species of agave. It is excellent for smaller gifts as it does not take up much volume;
- feathers - For a more delicate yet chic effect, colourful or single-colour feathers are ideal - they take up little space and cost little, but guarantee a spectacular effect;
- crinkled paper - For large gifts, this gift filler will work best. We don't have to handle it subtly, we can crumple it into any shape we want - and it will still look fantastic and creative. A great idea would be to hide the articles you intend to give in it - necessarily in a large box;
- sweets - Candy and candy bars can spoil the palate of any gourmet. Why not include them in a gift? On occasion, they will act as an edible gift filler - of course, the person's tastes need to be taken into account when choosing sweets;
- dried flowers - look extremely attractive and even when dried retain their beautiful shape, you can use, for example, gypsophila or hydrangea. Flowers work well in smaller boxes for small gifts.
Gift filler - where to buy?
Do you want to decorate your gifts in an original way? Do you want an electrifying effect? You are surely wondering where to buy gift fillers. Wood wool, sisal, crinkle paper or feathers are easy to find in any stationery shop. If you want to save money, look on Allegro - there the price will certainly be more affordable, although these kinds of decorations are not a big expense. You'll pay about £10 for a small packet of sisal or wood wool; feathers cost similarly. Remember to add a greeting card to your gift, which is often forgotten in recent times. Even if you intend to make your wishes directly, a card will allow you to immortalise them for a long time and will become a perfect keepsake - you will definitely be remembered!
Gift fillers - decoration matters
You can only ever make a first impression once - the same applies to gifts. Although packaging and the gift itself are not the most important things, it is worth putting some effort into an aesthetically pleasing presentation. This will make the recipient happier and arouse curiosity to look at the contents of the box. How we wrap the gift also reveals our attitude towards the recipient. It is worth focusing not only on finding interesting and useful items to give, but also paying more attention to the packaging. Gift fillers will excellently highlight even low-priced trinkets. Their choice depends on our own preferences and the aesthetics we care about.
