Free domains - can they be 'redeemed'?
Let's start with the fact that both paid and fully free web domains are not products that can be purchased outright. Registering a domain can be likened to renting or leasing it for a predetermined period of time. In the case of paid options, non-payment of the subscription results in the loss of the domain.
The easiest way to get a free domain (or actually a subdomain) is to use a website builder. Many of them also offer other services such as hosting, i.e. the space on the server where our website will be hosted. There are also packages available. Wondering if free domains forever are possible? When choosing a domain registrar, it is worth taking a close look at its offer and checking the terms and conditions. Sometimes a domain for 0 PLN is only valid during a promotional period, e.g. for one year. During this time you can use it completely free of charge. After that, however, you will have to reckon with the costs of extending the service. Of course, you can decide to transfer the domain (transferring its service to another company), but in this case you also have to reckon with costs. 
What does it look like to extend the longevity of free domains?
Free internet domains also require renewal. With some service providers you will encounter automatic renewal of the package for another year. If this option is not available - you will need to do this yourself by generating a renewal order. In some situations, the continued use of the address will only be possible after confirmation of the recipient's personal details.
Domain renewal is important, especially for businesses. A few days without an active website can make it difficult to get in touch with customers and can cause substantial financial losses. In some cases, however, renewal of an expired domain is impossible - it is enough if someone takes over such a domain and does not agree to resell it, and we did not have the so-called option set up. Even worse, you will also lose your long-earned search engine positions along with it.

It is also worth looking at the list of domains whose use will be cost-free for you not only during the promotional period, but also in the long term. These may include, for example, sub-domains of the hosting you decide on and selected national domains, such as Tokelau (.tk) or Mali (.ml).
Remember to give your domain a name that is easy for your recipients or customers to remember. There is also an advantage to having an email on your own domain. An inbox with an address containing your company name establishes your credibility and helps build your brand position.
