More and more electric cars can be seen on Polish roads. Their use is becoming more common, but for some it is still a bit of a mystery. It turns out that it is not without reason, because not only the use of such a car looks different. They also differ from the combustion car in the way they are serviced. However, there is nothing to fear!
Electric car review - what can you expect?
The overhaul of electric cars is slightly shorter than that of petrol cars. Why? This is because there is no need to carry out an exhaust quality check on it. Everything else, such as checking the condition of the body, lights, tyres, brakes and equipment, is exactly the same. So if you're going for your first electric car check-up, you needn't fear anything. Expect a short and pleasant visit that will contribute to your safety on the road.
The first inspection of electric cars must be carried out before the expiry of three years from the date of registration of the vehicle. The second one should take place about two years after the first one. Each subsequent inspection must take place every year. Do I need a special service for my electric car? No, because the inspection can be carried out in any workshop that inspects combustion cars. This is because the diagnostician checks the same things in addition to the quality of the exhaust gases, so there is no need to go to specialised facilities.
How much does an electric car inspection cost?
You are probably wondering how much an electric car inspection costs. Despite the fact that green cars are more expensive than their combustion engine versions, the inspection prices are no different. You will pay the same amount for an inspection of an electric car as for a petrol or diesel one. This means that the cost of the inspection is around PLN 100.
What is the difference between an electric car inspection and a combustion car inspection?
The diagnosis of electric cars begins with verification of the VIN number. The registrations are also checked. The mechanic then checks the suspension and all the components already discussed (lights, brakes, etc.). The inspection of a car with an electric motor takes less time and no emissions check is carried out during the inspection. This is because green cars do not produce them at all. In addition, the tests look almost the same. How long do I have to leave the car for the diagnostician to carry out the test? The car should be ready in about 20 minutes, as long as the appointment was made in advance. If you surprise the mechanic, who has a lot of other work, he or she may not undertake the inspection of your electric vehicle straight away.
As you can see, there is nothing to fear from an electric car review. It does not require any additional charges or a longer waiting time. The specialist checks all the most important aspects that affect driving comfort and safety.
