Among other things, the new legislation increases the subsidies for those who use different variants of organic fertilisers.
According to the regulations, however, a farmer who is considering introducing an eco approach on his farm must first adapt it accordingly. Subsequently, it is necessary to apply to one of the certification bodies, which will give him permission to operate as an organic farm. Subsidies for ecological cookers also make it possible to adapt the way buildings are heated to one that is environmentally friendly. The ecological subsidies can in fact be used by anyone who meets the conditions. The assessment of applications is mostly on a first-come, first-served basis, so that everyone has an equal chance of receiving the subsidy. Its declared amount is usually determined by the prevailing economic conditions, so that they are quite diverse and the amount varies for many areas.
For example, the rates of organic payments to farmers depend on the cultivation method and the type of crop and range from around PLN 600 to PLN 2 600 per hectare. On the other hand, for the replacement of a cooker and for works related to insulating a house, you can receive from approximately several to even several dozen thousand PLN. For the purchase of an electric car, you will receive up to PLN 27 000 in subsidies.
