EKO Returns is an initiative by InPost and the Reclaim the Environment Foundation to support the idea of zero waste and a closed loop economy. Together, we encourage you to give unused but functional items a second life and live in the spirit of zero waste - just send the items through a Parcel Machine as part of the EKO Returns service.
We are very pleased to see a growing sense of responsibility for the planet among our customers! In the last quarter alone, as many as 6,000 parcels were donated to the Foundation as part of the EKO Returns service . Textiles, footwear, electrical and electronic equipment, toys and books weighed over 21 tonnes!
The charity also prepared 350 EKOdars, which went to those in need. We donated Christmas parcels with, among other things, blankets, winter footwear, children's clothing, board games, books and small domestic appliances. Among the beneficiaries of the EKOdars, were:
- Single Mother's Home in Zabrze,
- Children's Home in Kielce,
- Shelter for Homeless Animals in Dyminy,
- Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing "Migacze" in Piła
- The school library at the Ożarów School and Kindergarten Complex.
"The idea of zero waste is part of the InPost Group's ESG strategy, which is why, together with the Reclaim the Environment Foundation and other partners of our campaign, we decided to make the InPost Parcel Machine available as a tool to promote knowledge and closed-loop principles. Thanks to the EKO Returns service, every item can have a new story," says Sebastian Anioł, Director of Logistics Innovation, InPost.
The ECO Returns service made its debut at the end of last year and initially only concerned functional but unused electrical and electronic equipment. Over time, the opportunity to donate unwanted textiles, books and toys was introduced, which proved to be a hit. By donating unneeded items, we give them a chance to be reused by others and have a positive impact on the environment. The cost of the service and its carbon footprint is much lower compared to producing a new product.
EKOreturn can be sent free of charge and conveniently via any Parcel Machine®. For more information, please visit: www.inpost.pl/ekozwroty .
