New locations in Warsaw, Krakow and Poznan
Echo Investment and InPost - one of the fastest-growing technology companies in Europe - have started a long-term cooperation. As part of the agreement, InPost devices will be installed at the developer's residential and mixed-use developments, enabling convenient collection and delivery of parcels for both residents and other users. The first device has already been installed at the Moje Miejsce development in Warsaw. Further machines will be built at housing estates in Kraków and Poznań. In January 2021, InPost successfully debuted on the EURONEXT Amsterdam stock exchange.
"The Parcel Machine® has become an indispensable part of the urban infrastructure, as it facilitates the daily life of residents. It is therefore no surprise that developers have also noticed this and have decided to design new housing estates with space for Parcel Machines®. We are always close to people, which is why our development plans also include newly built urban developments - both residential and commercial. Cooperation with developers and Paczkomat® InPost machines in housing estates is one of the elements of the expansion of our network. A key factor in choosing a location is its convenient location and accessibility for users. The launch of Paczkomat® in the Moje Miejsce development in Warsaw is just the beginning of our cooperation." - says Rafał Brzoska, CEO of InPost.
„ We are introducing another convenience for residents and users of our estates and mixed-use projects. This is why we are entering into a partnership with InPost. The device at the My Place project in Warsaw can be used by residents, office building employees and other users. We are already in talks about installing further Paczkomat® devices. The devices will stand, among others, in our housing estates in Kraków and Poznań, and other locations are awaiting approval. We believe that the addition of this service to our developments will increase the comfort of residents' lives." - explains Kazimierz Monkiewicz , manager ds. CSR i CSV w Echo Investment.
At the end of November, InPost implemented a revolutionary new service for sending parcels via an app. Parcels are posted at an InPost Paczkomat® - either to another device or to a designated home address. There is no need to stick any labels on the parcel - just an electronically generated QR code or a sending code in the app. The parcel can be paid for with a BLIK code. Further payment options will appear in the app in early 2021: payment card, fast transfers (pay-by-link), Apple Pay, Google Pay. The status of a sent parcel can be tracked in the app, of course, but also at the inpost.pl in the 'Parcel Tracking' section and via a chatbot by entering the 24-digit parcel number. Thanks to the app, several people can receive parcels at the same time with one device, without having to stand in a queue. The InPost Mobile app can be downloaded from the Google Play, App Store and Huawei AppGallery shops. The InPost Mobile app already has 5.7 million active users.
InPost can also be contacted using Google Assistant. The conversation starts by calling a bot called ChatBot Mat with the phrase "Talk to InPost". Customers can ask about, among other things, the status of their parcel, the nearest Parcel Machine®, and, new to the bot, the number for the courier. The same Bot is also available on Messenger, with all its functionalities.
InPost has also introduced a service "Parcel in a Weekend" - due to the growing demand for the service. It allows deliveries by Parcel Machine® also on Saturdays and Sundays - the cost of the service is PLN 4.99 gross. Under 'Parcels at the weekend', parcels are delivered to customers at the weekend if the sending (i.e. the parcel is handed over to the machine or POP or an order is placed for the courier to collect it), takes place by 1pm on Saturday.
The network of devices already numbers more than 10,000 in Poland, more than doubling the scale of the Polish Post's own outlets (4,600 [1] ) . Paczkomat® InPost is also available in Poland at shops: Dino, Lidl, Kaufland, Delikatesy Centrum chain shops organised by the Eurocash Group, as well as in Auchan Shopping Centres. InPost has also signed a contract with the Auchan shop chain for the delivery of Fridge machines and a door-to-door delivery service. The functionalities of InPost fridge machines allow food, beverages and frozen food ordered online from Auchan Direct to be safely stored and collected. According to a study by Kantar TNS, up to 40% of online shoppers want to collect their groceries in InPost machines.
In addition, InPost - responding to market demand - has launched a Parcel Machine® InDoor designed specifically for indoor installation. With InDoor facilities, property owners provide their residents and tenants with the most advantageous and popular shopping pick-up option. At the same time, they attract local residents to the location - thus generating additional profits for shops and service outlets.
According to the Gemius report [2] The parcel machine® is the most frequently chosen form of delivery - they have overtaken couriers. This type of delivery of goods is preferred by up to 61% of online shoppers. This represents an increase in the popularity of the service among internet users by as much as 9 percentage points compared to the results of the 2019 report. For the first time ever, Paczkomat® beat courier delivery in popularity, which is chosen by 55% of respondents - the first result of its kind in the world. In addition, as many as 68% of respondents declare that the possibility to pick up their purchases via InPost devices motivates them to buy from a specific online shop - a year-on-year increase of 7 percentage points.
