Follow the GIS guidelines and avoid crowds

Taking special precautions – particularly avoiding crowds and contact with infected people – can help to limit the spread of the coronavirus. That is why it is worth shopping online, and during the expected rise in cases, InPost recommends using Paczkomaty® – as one of the safest delivery methods. This helps to minimise contact between the courier and the recipient, and by using the mobile app, there is no need to touch the Paczkomat® control panel.

InPost’s recommendations:

  • If you have the choice between delivery by InPost courier and collection from an InPost Paczkomat® – choose collection from a Paczkomat® – as this helps to minimise contact with other people
  • When collecting a parcel from an InPost Paczkomat®, do not touch the control panel – open the Paczkomat® locker using the InPost app on your smartphone (the app is available to download from the App Store and Google Play)
  • For deliveries to homes, we advise couriers and recipients to maintain an appropriate distance and to hand over parcels at the door or outside the property, in order to minimise the duration of direct contact
  • In accordance with the guidelines issued by health authorities, we recommend avoiding direct contact, such as shaking hands, passing mobile devices – whilst signing documents – pens, etc.

“We have decided to issue a recommendation to our customers – under which We recommend using InPost Parcel Lockers® when the seller offers the option of delivery either by our courier or via a Parcel Locker®. In this way, we take preventative measures to limit contact between by courier and the recipient. This is important given that, according to the WHO, the virus is most commonly transmitted via droplets,” he said Wojciech Kądziołka, press officer at InPost.

InPost has implemented special procedures across the entire company, with a focus on preventative measures. “In our view, during the expected rise in cases, the most important thing will be to maintain the stability of deliveries, sustain logistics chains and ensure the safety of recipients. That is why it is so important to ensure the continuity of logistics companies’ operations by looking after the health of their staff,” he emphasises Wojciech Kądziołka.

InPost currently has over 6,000 Paczkomat® parcel lockers across Poland.
