Increasing number of devices in smaller towns and rural areas
InPost - a leader among delivery platforms for e-commerce in Europe - has launched Paczkomat® No. 14,000 in Sejny, in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, with a population of over 5,000. An increasing number of devices operated by InPost are located in smaller towns and rural areas. This makes the Paczkomat® InPost network the largest and most accessible parcel collection and delivery network in Poland.
- Not only do we install the new Paczkomat® InPost machines at an express pace, but also, as part of the Green City programme, we locate the machines in cooperation with local authorities and local communities - so that our machines blend harmoniously into the urban fabric. In addition, to further reduce the carbon footprint of the last-mile parcel circuit - zero-emission electric cars are being deployed in partner cities. We are also laying innovative air-purifying paving stones at newly erected facilities and introducing autonomous machines - powered by solar energy - underlines Rafał Brzoska, CEO of InPost.
Brzoska emphasises that the company is focusing on the even development of the device network, as it still has hundreds of requests and enquiries from all over Poland.
- Still many customers write to us because they want to be closer to our machines. This is why we are placing such a strong emphasis on developing our network in smaller towns and rural areas. The machines are greeted with enthusiasm because they solve many of the problems of local communities - where residents often have to drive several or several kilometres to the nearest post office. Thanks to us, they can easily send their parcels and order goods from distant shops. The Paczkomat® has become an integral part of the public infrastructure - both in large cities and small towns - points out founder of InPost.
The Paczkomat® InPost device is the most environmentally friendly form of online shopping. Analyses conducted by InPost show that ordering a parcel to the machine reduces CO2 emissions by up to 75% compared to delivery directly to the customer's home. In 2020 alone, deliveries to the Paczkomat® InPost machine network reduced CO2 emissions by more than 180,000 tonnes. Further development and optimisation of the Paczkomat® InPost machine network will contribute to the reduction of car traffic in cities, which will translate into improved air quality and climate protection
