InPost - the leader in modern logistics for e-commerce in Poland - processed 16 million parcels for the e-commerce sector between January and May. The most popular delivery method is still Paczkomat® InPost. However, the exponential growth in courier volumes may result in the calendar year ending with a change in the position of internal leader at least on a monthly basis.
The first five months were a period of strong growth in services for the e-commerce sector. All service categories recorded very high growth rates compared to the results of a year ago. Deliveries to Paczkomat® continue to grow very rapidly, gaining 78.6 per cent in the first five months compared to the same period last year. It is worth noting the novelty in the InPost Group's offer - courier services - which will only celebrate its first anniversary on the market at the end of June. Between January and May, the growth rate of courier services reached 70.6 per cent.
Holidays can change customers' habits in terms of delivery methods. During the holidays, customers shop online all the time. On the one hand, it will be easier and cheaper for them to pick up a parcel at a Parcel Machine® that is located where they live. On the other hand, however, in holiday towns where there is no Parcel Machine® yet, you can expect more frequent use of courier services. Therefore, courier growth should still accelerate in June and July, and the number of parcel shipments should maintain a steady growth. However, as early as August, when the school shopping season begins, customers should be ordering more with delivery to Parcel Machines® especially as their network is constantly being expanded. This year alone, there will be 1,000 new machines on the Polish market and their number will rise to 2,600.
" We are keeping a close eye on our internal race between courier services and Parcel Machines, the outcome of the courier InPost shows how much the market needed an integrated service. It allows you to order all services under one roof, which greatly simplifies the work of the e-commerce sector, if only because you can use one software for sending and receiving parcels, one invoicing system and handling returns. This is rewarded by our customers transferring orders previously carried out by other courier companies to InPost." - Sebastian Anioł, CEO of InPost SA, said. "It is not insignificant for the growth in courier service volumes that we have been consistently developing. Recently, for those customers who, for various reasons, prefer to receive a parcel directly from a courier, we have introduced a service called Local Courier , a same-day service where the buyer receives the parcel within a maximum of five hours of placing the order. Importantly, courier services are also growing indirectly thanks to Paczkomaty, as only with us the recipient - in case of a change of location - can redirect the courier parcel to one of 1800 Paczkomaty in Poland. Such flexibility is not offered by any other operator in Poland."
The third of InPost's main services dedicated to the e-commerce sector, the e-commerce registered letter, is also recording sensational results. The growth rate in the first five months of 2016 was 317.5 per cent compared to January-May last year.
" This is an excellent service for the smallest consignments. The low price and good quality attract customers who are looking for value for money and do not want to overpay for a logistics service, if only because the purchase value is small. Regardless of the delivery method chosen, customers must be assured that the quality will remain high. This is our goal, which we are working towards all the time." - underlines Sebastian Anioł.
In June, InPost was once again the winner of the World Post & Parcel Awards. The company received the award in the Customer Service category. The judges appreciated the project "Make it social" - effective customer service in social networks. In the final, the company from Poland beat competing projects from Deutsche Post and Lebanon Post.
InPost provides postal and courier services for individual and business customers - as the only operator in Poland, it provides a comprehensive and complementary range of logistics services 'under one roof'. Thanks to the agreement between Allegro and InPost on strategic cooperation in the delivery of products ordered online, e-tailers are able to take advantage of the services: Allegro Courier InPost, Allegro Parcel Machines InPost and Allegro Polecony InPost. In all these options, customers are guaranteed to be able to return the ordered product free of charge.
The operator's offer is also complemented by a wide range of modern solutions, including those dedicated to the courier sector: Dynamic Parcel Redirection and posting Allegro parcels in Paczkomaty® InPost. This is a free option, thanks to which the customer can collect their order in a designated Paczkomaty® InPost or at a selected Customer Service Point. The service is a convenience created for e-entrepreneurs processing a small daily number of orders, who want to adjust the parcel delivery date to their work timeframe. On the other hand, the option of sending parcels from Allegro in Paczkomaty® InPost allows to send courier parcels at any time using one of more than 1800 conveniently located Paczkomaty® InPost machines in Poland. The solution allows for fast and efficient order processing without waiting for the parcels to be collected by an InPost employee.
